Sixty illegal immigrants who were comingled within a tractor holding produce were rescued by Rio Grande Valley Sector Border Patrol Agents on Saturday.
Agents referred a tractor trailer driver to secondary inspection after a dog alerted officials to the people who were laying on and within pallets of broccoli.
The trailer's doors were secured with a padlock and the subjects had no means of escape. The trailer's temperature was 49 degrees Fahrenheit.

Rescued? How about Arrested and deported.
Even if not padlocked there is no means of opening standard 53 foot trailers from the inside.
Thank goodness most of my fruits & veggies, sold at the grocery store, are from farms around here.
WTH?
A week or two ago everybody was going nuts when a hundred or so got caught in a trailer that was too hot.
Sounds like a Goldilocks kinda deal to me.
Yep...Deport the illegals, arrest driver and tell him he’ll rot until he rats out his contacts.
Great point.
What were they comingled with?
How did they fit in a tractor?
Why was there produce in a tractor?
Did this writer graduate from the fourth grade?
No they weren't. Another editor that doesn't know WTH's going on.
The illegals were in the trailer not the tractor.
Just guessing, but it was probably refrigerated to keep the produce.
Let’s all poop on the produce
It’s another word for a conventional semi, a cab with trailer, that we commonly call a truck. This isn’t as in John Deere!
But it’s all cool, mon.
ROFL. GMTA
And all these years I thought there was a tractor and a trailer (hence the name “tractor-trailer”).
I guess those early years working the fuel line at a truck stop confused me. :)
No wonder people are getting E Coli and getting extremely ill and/or dying!

I figure that has been going on for years when using ‘stoop labor’ to pick the crops.
Especially when they are getting paid by the piece.
Who is going to waste time going to a Johnny-on-the-Spot when it is easier to drop trou and keep on a pickin’?
After few years the human waste is now the fertilizer.
I first went to Japan in 1956 and they were using human waste and we were told to not eat the vegetables.
Didn’t really eat vegetables any way but drank enough booze to offset any problems that my system may not be used to. <: <:
You've go 60 DAMNED ILLEGAL ALIENS locked up in 49 degree COLD ( that, alone make you want to urinate ) for many, many hours, if not days, and what would you expect? THIS IS NOT ONLY AN INVASION, BUT AN EXTREME HEALTH HAZARD!
And I'm serious...there are two farms at the end of the street I live on and quite a few others in this town and the ones around it.And I know for certain that these farms don't have ILLEGALS as pickers. So I feel safe buying and eating this produce.
Come winter...I won't buy the imported stuff.
When you get copy editing by someone who doesn’t grok truckerese, you might get this kind of warped lingo. Grin and let it go. Unless you own the paper.
You just can’t satisfy some folks.
