Park officials say the Confederate monuments in Gettysburg National Military Park in Pennsylvania are staying put, according to our affiliate WSET.

The national park has not received any complaints about the monuments, park spokesperson Katie Lawhon told USA Today.

"These memorials, erected predominantly in the early and mid-20th century, are an important part of the cultural landscape," Lawhon said in an email to USA Today.

Lawhon told reporters that the park's mission includes interpreting the actions, motivations, and causes of the soldiers.

Gettysburg National Military Park focuses on the Battle of Gettysburg, which was the bloodiest battle during the Civil War.

I had a dream. In it, Donald Trump was throwing Rachel MadCow off of little round top.

What monuments were erected almost 200 years after the fact?

The work of the Ministry of Truth was difficult because they had to destroy old paper books, rewrite them, and republish the new, “correct” versions at printing plants. In a paper book and paper newspaper world, that was very hard to do.

How hard do you think this will be when everything is stored digitally, advanced AI can automate the rewriting (just look at the new “fake news” AI tools being deployed today for a glimpse), and all the server farms are run by insane leftists?

Sorry, but the Internet is going to make it easier than ever to completely wipe out or alter history.

They won’t need a blitz. Just ONE complainant and down come the statues. If 0.01% complain about anything, it must be properly dealt with. It’s the 21st century way.

If the Dems control Congress and the POTUS, then all it takes is a bill to pass and they are, well, history.................

Yup!

Upon the fall of Richmond, President and Mrs. Lincoln, General and Mrs. Grant went by boat down the Potomac River and up the James River to Richmond.
On that date, April 4, 1865, there was only one slave in Richmond, Mrs. Grant’s personal servant.

I really doubt though. For one thing, the Dems are in trouble and losing support by the day.Second, people have smartphones and record videos that can go viral.

No Civil War = No Reason for It
No Reason For It = No Slavery
No Slavery = No Subsequent Racism
No Subsequent Racism = No Inequality
No Inequality = No Reparations
No Reparations = No White Guilt
No White Guilt = No Welfare State
No Welfare State = You Gotta work to eat

...One thought just leads to another...

PS...I LOVE Gettysburg just the way it is. The only thing that should have been torn down was the “observation tower”, which it was.

Frankly I do not believe you at all. I found online info about the ANTIFA that was not too kind.

Today, that is true. But you must look down the road five, ten or twenty years.

There is a huge amount of concern expressed today about AI and robots taking over and wiping out mankind because they don’t find us useful. I think a far greater concern will be bots scouring the web 24/7 to find articles such as you cite and automatically rewriting them to be “correct.” Stories that don’t comport with the currently fashionable view will be either completely erased from all servers everywhere or rewritten by AI. True history will be wiped out and be replaced be what MiniTrue says is correct on any given day.

Don’t underestimate the pace of technological change and how quickly it will be adapted to nefarious ends. It is coming. Maybe not in our lifetimes, but it is coming.

I do second it there. Maybe not in our lifetimes, but in those who will come after us.

Actually, no it didn’t. At the death of Lee’s father-in-law, the Arlington house passed to Lee’s oldest son - George Washington Curtis Lee. Robert E. Lee was the executor of the will.

"These memorials, erected predominantly in the early and mid-20th century, are an important part of the cultural landscape," Lawhon said in an email to USA Today.

According to the liberal elite haters at MSNBC this choice makes Lawhon a KKK sympathizer or maybe... wait for it... a Nazi....
