No, the Google manifesto isn’t sexist or anti-diversity. It’s science
The Globe and Mail ^ | Aug. 08, 2017 | DEBRA SOH

By now, most of us have heard about Google’s so-called “anti-diversity” manifesto and how James Damore, the engineer who wrote it, has been fired from his job.

Titled Google’s Ideological Echo Chamber, Mr. Damore called out the current PC culture, saying the gender gap in Google’s diversity was not due to discrimination, but inherent differences in what men and women find interesting. Danielle Brown, Google’s newly appointed vice-president for diversity, integrity and governance, accused the memo of advancing “incorrect assumptions about gender,” and Mr. Damore confirmed last night he was fired for “perpetuating gender stereotypes.”

Despite how it’s been portrayed, the memo was fair and factually accurate. Scientific studies have confirmed sex differences in the brain that lead to differences in our interests and behaviour.

As mentioned in the memo, gendered interests are predicted by exposure to prenatal testosterone – higher levels are associated with a preference for mechanically interesting things and occupations in adulthood. Lower levels are associated with a preference for people-oriented activities and occupations. This is why STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) fields tend to be dominated by men.

...

Of course, differences exist at the individual level, and this doesn’t mean environment plays no role in shaping us. But to claim that there are no differences between the sexes when looking at group averages, or that culture has greater influence than biology, simply isn’t true.

In fact, research has shown that cultures with greater gender equity have larger sex differences when it comes to job preferences, because in these societies, people are free to choose their occupations based on what they enjoy.

...

we should be more concerned about viewpoint diversity than diversity revolving around gender.

I have to confess that after reading the whole thing, I think it is one of the best things I’ve ever read on the internet. It needs to go viral. It covers all the bases and is so irrefutable in many places that it must drive the insane on the left even more insane.

It was very high quality and well researched. It had to take a lot of work. Everyone should read it - especially those who work in management and HR departments at large companies.

Science? What sh*t! It’s not science—Google is an attack on free speech and the Republic. Dismantle it and prosecute these seditious traitors.

Liberals are gender-difference deniers! It’s settled science.

Viva la difference!

“irrefutable”

Leftists use facts to justify their feelings, not to inform them. If information contrary to their feelings is irrefutable, all the more reason to ignore it or, if necessary, suppress it.

If Google is interested in the science rather than using portions thereof as a club I expect to soon see a woman fired from Google for berating a man by saying all men are rapists and a black employee fired for spewing about "white privilege" because a fellow employee is white.

If those job terminations are not forthcoming in a reasonable amount of time then this is another case of selective application of reality to make a case for the Google agenda, not an application of science.

I agree. And the exciting thing is that that paradigm does not work for them any more. Thanks to the internet, it just makes them look stupid. It’s why the Tucker Carlson videos can be so much fun. :-)

As a woman I have know that men and woman are different,—physically.mentally, and emotionally.

The traits of one sex are not better than the traits of the other sex, they are just DIFFERENT.

I like it that way,we complement eachother.

I know a SJW (not a friend) who was bragging she was heading to SV to “Shake up the Valley”.
Executives at Google, Intel, Apple and FB are going to fight to keep this story out of the media.

They REALLY don’t want Americans to know what is going on.

Google had to cancel the ‘diversity’ meeting... seems people like us - people who see the world different than the 'in crowd' feared being fired if they spoke their truth.

It was the same in the 1960’s - of course google has change the choice of victim... but other than that - it's the same. James Damore ‘rioted at Stonewall’, nailed a proclamation to a door, wrote a letter from the Birmingham Jail... he's our leader - in our day and time - with our people - against the thugs and goons of our time.

Choice of victim does NOT change the hate ...
