Buchanan: Economic Nationalism Goes ‘Pretty Much Out the Window’ If Bannon Leaves White House
Breitbart ^ | August 9, 2017 | Jeff Poor

[snip]

Buchanan urged Trump to be loyal to Bannon, calling him a needed “voice.”

“Look, you got to be loyal to your people,” he added. “You need Bannon’s voice in there, quite frankly. He’s the custodian of the populist conservative traditionalist ideas, which are more than half of Trump’s coalition, and also they’re the critical element that got him elected.

I agree with Buchanan. There is obviously conflict between Bannon and McMaster (and maybe others), and it has been reported that Trump has been peeved about Bannon getting more credit than, perhaps, he is due, but I think Breitbart's pro-Trump propaganda has been a big boon to him.

As I said on a prior post, Steve Bannon is the conscience of this administration.

If Bannon leaves, then it's over. We will then get Obama “lite”. It would be the ultimate betrayal of the base.

All the RINOs hate Steve- but they’d be so much worse off if he was free to fight them, and in public.
I think they actually encourage Trump to keep him in the White House... in the ‘keep your enemies close’ sense.

Get rid of him, and get rid of your base.

Buchanan hasn't been right about anything for years. There are plenty of good people who are willing to take over for him.

In Trump's universe no one person is indispensable. So keep your ego in check.

I agree. Trump is the leader of this movement and the one constant that only needs to remain.

I think that Bannon and Trump are kindred souls. It’s providential that they have found each other and are working together to save the American Republic. Bannon is needed to help Donald Trump become one of the GREATEST American presidents. And I truly believe that Trump is on a trajectory to greatness. I don’t want to see him derailed by the like of McMaster and other enemies of Bannon.

Trump was speaking economic populism way back in the 1980’s.

In my younger years, I would have killed to work for Bannon. I might not personally like him, but he is so damned smart in the Irish Catholic no-BS tradition of logic and rationality, it would have made me a far better person and perhaps even a journalist.

Personal stuff aside, I think Trump and the country need Bannon’s mind, ,voice and spirit .

Regardless of this, and a heap of other articles, it’s time for The Dealmaker to do just that, no more bill signings without an attachment of The Skinny bill

The Mandate repeal is priority #1, regardless of the deflections, attempts to nulify the election results, and entrapment.

I concur. Losing Steve Bannon would be tantamount to splintering the President's base.

Steve Bannon is the nationalist guru who intimately understands the ideological framework which enables President Trump to fully express his "America First" instincts, and promote its policies.

President Trump is the Executive who effectively delegates in order to get things done ahead of schedule and under budget, and Steve Bannon is the brilliant master of detail who manages the practical and philosophical intricacies.

I think President Trump and Steve Bannon make a great tandem, and breaking that team up would be the height of folly...

So one advisor makes or breaks this presidency? Interesting perspective. Strange but interesting.

Agree. They make a great team. Stephen Miller is another We The People torch-bearer. But it’s Bannon who knows how to manipulate the press effectively.

If speechwriter Miller is the editor, Bannon is the publisher.
