North Korea says seriously considering plan to strike Guam: KCNA

SEOUL (Reuters) - North Korea said on Wednesday it is "carefully examining" a plan to strike the U.S. Pacific territory of Guam with missiles, just hours after U.S. President Donald Trump told the North that any threat to the United States would be met with "fire and fury".

A spokesman for the Korean People's Army, in a statement carried by the North's state-run KCNA news agency, said the strike plan will be "put into practice in a multi-current and consecutive way any moment" once leader Kim Jong Un makes a decision.

In another statement citing a different military spokesman, North Korea also said it could carry out a pre-emptive operation if the United States showed signs of provocation.

Fat Kim is looking for a fat payday, not nuclear suicide. He’s hoping and gambling that somebody will propose “multi-lateral talks” about the nuclear problem, and he will jump at the chance while carefully maintaining an air of bellligerent indifference.

Exactly.

He's trying to get a deal like his father got from Clinton in 1994.

North Korea relies heavily on rail traffic. There are as few as two rails between major points.

Hit the rail system directly and with delayed munitions.,.they lose total control.

Especially since Trump is waiting for a good reason to send them back to the stone age. No way is he going to attack first, the left and RINOs would storm the White house and lynch him. Nope, he’s waiting for Kim dumb Fuk to attack first then he’s going to unleash hell on Kim dumb Fuk and I wouldn’t be surprised at all if it’s nukes.

Diane Frankenstein’s comments are so glaringly out of place, so inappropriate, so destabilizing to our country at this very dangerous time.

Instead of coming together for the defense of our nation, she does the opposite. It is nothing short of seditious.

I know he’ll never do it, but wouldn’t it be great for PDJT to very forcefully tell her and her commie cohorts to zip it. And if/when they don’t, INTERN THEM until this very real danger is past.

Am I mistaken or is that a variable swept-wing design (subsonic / supersonic)?

I think it’s a stretch to say they put Fat Boy in charge. It’s an authoritarian state.

Just the act of sending missiles toward any US territory would unleash a full strike against North Korea and topple his government in just a matter of days hours.

Of course, a lot of speculation is that Kim is mainly a figurehead, like Hirohito was. The question is, who is North Korea’s “Tojo”?

I didn’t say they put him in charge. But he is their government now nevertheless.

Sometimes, to make a warring state change it’s government, you have to rain down fire and brimstone on the people. This makes them start thinking about taking measures for change.

This is what we did in WWII to great effect.

Yep. Seoul is target one. We will not invade. We will find and destroy the command and control structure. They do not understand this. I don’t care if they are using cans with string. We will find it.

Why don't we destroy their missiles while they are sitting on the launch pad?

Newt just trashed all three previous presidents for this NK mess, and rightly so.

Yes, that means you too, GW.

JOINT BASE PEARL HARBOR-HICKAM, Hawaii --

In response to North Korea's ballistic missile and nuclear programs and as a part of the continuing demonstration of ironclad U.S. commitment to our allies, two U.S. Air Force B-1B bombers under the command of U.S. Pacific Air Forces, joined their counterparts from the Republic of Korea and Japanese air forces in a sequenced bilateral missions July 29.

This mission is in direct response to North Korea's escalatory launch of intercontinental ballistic missiles on July 3 and July 28.

"North Korea remains the most urgent threat to regional stability," said Gen. Terrence J. O'Shaughnessy, Pacific Air Forces commander. "Diplomacy remains the lead; however, we have a responsibility to our allies and our nation to showcase our unwavering commitment while planning for the worst-case scenario. If called upon, we are ready to respond with rapid, lethal, and overwhelming force at a time and place of our choosing."

After taking off from Andersen Air Force Base, Guam, the B-1s flew to Japanese airspace, where they were joined by two Koku Jieitai (Japan Air Self Defense Force) F-2 fighter jets. The B-1s then flew over the Korean Peninsula where they were joined by four Republic of Korea Air Force F-15 fighter jets. The B-1s then performed a low-pass over Osan Air Base, South Korea, before leaving South Korean airspace and returning to Guam.

Throughout the approximately 10-hour mission, the aircrews practiced intercept and formation training, enabling them to improve their combined capabilities and tactical skills, while also strengthening the long standing military-to-military relationships in the Indo-Asia-Pacific region.

U.S. Pacific Command maintains flexible bomber and fighter capabilities in the Indo-Asia-Pacific theater, retaining the ability to quickly respond to any regional threat in order to defend the U.S. homeland and in support of our allies. http://www.andersen.af.mil/News/Article/1261996/us-bombers-conduct-bilateral-mission-with-allies-in-response-to-north-korea-icb/

Very possible. There are 10K artillery tubes of 122mm or > within range of the DMZ and many of them aimed at Seoul. Even if we took out all of them in 30 minutes the destruction they would do is monstrous.

Next test or other provocation should call for the evacuation of Seoul. That might even get NK's attention.
