EDITORIAL: Gun crimes must be top target for Chicago’s U.S. attorney (barf alert)
Chicago S-T ^ | 5 aug 2017

The U.S. attorney’s office in Chicago, among the busiest in the nation, must set its priorities to fit the times.

Twenty years ago, the top priority might have been public corruption. Ten years ago, it might have been white-collar crime.

EDITORIAL

Today, as John Lausch prepares to take over the job, we urge the U.S. attorney’s office in Chicago to focus on one priority above all others:

Ridding our city of illegal guns.

Shootings are the scourge of Chicago, so much so that President Donald Trump has mocked our city for its violence, though he has done nothing to combat the problem. But if the U.S. attorney’s office now throws its full resources into taking guns off Chicago’s streets, in a way that the office has promised in the past but failed to deliver on, the city’s murder rate could plummet, our children would be safer, and the president will have done a great service.

“Let’s go find some white people to harass”.

The left doesn’t have the stones to confront the real problem so they will scapegoat like they always do. It’s so much easier now that they have a white president that they can blame.

The Mafia control the Chicago gangs and profit from them.
Part of those profits go to Chicago politicians.

They have no interest in solving the gang problem.

So here we have a noted man of letters/philosophy who figured out the correct moral stance on this almost 2000 years ago, and yet here we have determined fools like the members of the Chicago Sun-Times Editorial Board trying to steer the sheeple otherwise, blaming the sword.

You cannot get rid of “illegal” guns when people are more afraid of criminals than they are of prosecution. Decent people want to protect themselves. The way to fix the violent crime problem is to lock up violent criminals who use guns in the commission of a crime. That will never happen, not when the democrats want every criminal to vote for them, but it would be the right answer if the Ctrl-Left cared about people.

” ... President Donald Trump has mocked our city for its violence, though he has done nothing to combat the problem.”

Chicago newspapers. Like Juan McCain in years past vowing to end Obamacare ...

No National Guard to Chiraq because the Windy city might have to pay for them, but federal tax dollars always welcome so, like CA, they can spend it on illegals.
“Keep sending the National Guard to war zones across the waves”, say the `rats and their neo-con pals. 60 more casualties in Chicongo this weekend?
“Take away Billy Bob’s guns in Tuscaloosa, just send us sanctuary cities more moolah!”
Tiny Dancer

Although the internet killed their memory holes, it is nearly impossible to post articles on Free Republic safe to click for the purposes of gaining facts—for purposes other than showing the hypocrisy of the left—because they still own the lion’s share of the MSM.

Another 500 pounds of ‘gun control’ laws should solve the problem...

Trump could issue a travel warning for Chicago.

Is writer saying that local law enforcement is a federal responsibility? That cannot be if immigration cooperation is not a local responsibility.

—while I am all for ridding the city of illegals (sending them home in body bags if necessary) they are not much of Chicago’s problem , as the chart about halfway down the link shows—

The US Attorney does have a role to play. When a “felon-in-possession” case come up, they can remove that case to federal court and go for the 5 year federal prison term mandated by statute.
