100,000 terminally ill patients denied hospice care [single payer]

One in four terminally ill people who need expert end-of-life care are not receiving it because of funding pressures, the hospice movement has told Sky News.

Hospice UK said as many as 118,000 people in the UK with terminal or life-limiting conditions are not able to access palliative care from its members.

On average, hospices most of which are charities, receive just one-third of their funding from the NHS and rely on donations, shops, bequests and investments for the rest.

Hospice UK said two-thirds of hospices had their NHS funding cut or frozen last year.

It argues that with more certain funding it could treat many more people, significantly easing the pressure on NHS hospitals.

Around 500,000 people die in England and Wales every year, half of them in hospitals despite many of them having no clinical need to be there.

In the UK they can’t even afford to help you die.

When the government runs healthcare (and not just health insurance) the government gives care to those who help government retain its power, and denies it to those who it doesn’t give f*ck about.
So, elderly Whites are sent to the undertaker, while all the care imaginable is provided for aids patients, abortion, euthanasia and sex “change” operations.

On the other hand, this IS a PR release from the hospice industry that’s basically asking for a lot more government money to be funneled to them, so take it with a grain of salt.

The last year of my Father-in-law’s life, he needed to be in a care home. They are not covered by the NHS, and they are exponentially more expensive over there than here. The NHS sent a home health aide to his home, twice a week, to dress the ulcers on his legs. He was in misery. Family kept him in his home for as long as possible, and then he passed. Please don’t pretend that the elderly, who are no longer paying into all the Social Services, get the care they need, when the Government provides that care. Seeing him and his condition shortly before he passed, broke my heart. Single-payer/Government Healthcare doesn’t even provide the care needed to those who are stil paying in, i e the worker bees. America needs to awaken to the reality of Socialized Medicine.

Single payer? Sounds like multiple payer to me.

I think that when Single Payer is passed by our “federal” government that many of us should meet at the Concord Bridge and fire the first shots of Revolutionary War II.

Fortunately, some idiot brought it up in Congress recently and it got zero votes.

Past stories in the DailyMail and other British papers were citing 80,000 killed by the Liverpool Care Pathway.

That is the only way Govt knows how to control costs.

They don’t do it more effectively or efficiently like the free market.

They just refuse to do it.

What recourse does a feudal slave have against the STATE?

"In the UK they can’t even afford to help you die."

Yet they refuse Charlie Gard's parents the right to take him home to die so someone else could have that spot.

Catch -22?
