The Center for American Progress has just released a report about gun theft, which is already serving as a tailor-made tool for those who want to extinguish your Second Amendment rights.
If youre unfamiliar with the Center for American Progress, its first president and CEO was John Podesta, who served at President Bill Clintons Chief of Staff, and later chaired Hillary Clintons presidential campaign.
The groups report: Stolen Guns in America: A State-by-State Analysis, describes gun theft in the United States as staggering, and it holds gun owners responsible for the thefts, rather than the criminals themselves.

Let me carry it with me and know one will steal it
It’s the liberal way - make the victim of a crime the criminal.
Any time I see an organization with the name "Progress" or any derivative thereof, it makes me want to get my gun out.
“Its the liberal way - make the victim of a crime the criminal”
That’s because the criminals are democrats.
The truth is many people get fired up about CCW then when they figure out what a PITA it is, they throw the roscoe in the center console or glove box and forget about.
Then Pookie comes creeping around and viola’ more guns on the street, which then stirs up the anti-gunners.
Gun ownership and carrying is not to be treated lightly. With great freedom also comes great responsibility.
I carry every day. Every day. Never left in my car, boat, etc. on my body, at all times.
Even in church. Just the way it’s gotta be.
Me too, it takes discipline and commitment.
And the responsibility not to treat a firearm as some other accoutrement like sunglasses.
All the LE agencies around here started talking about a “9 o’clock routine” about a month ago where you are supposed to start (predictably) going out at 9pm to remove your gun from your car and bring it inside.
I figured that a push was coming to start holding gun owners liable for their stolen gun.

You’re awesome! I wish I was that awesome. ;-)

Estimated 400K guns stolen each year. Assuming that number is real, compare that to the estimated number of car thefts 1.2 million per year.
Cars kill 30,000+ per year vs 11,000+ homicides from guns per year. Those are the facts. Looks like cars are 3x more likely to be stolen and cause 3x more deaths.
Yes, I know I am cherry picking statistics but it is designed to add some context to this meme
I would say, "Especially in church.", with no disrespect intended to the church, pastor, or congregation.
Plenty of crazies out there and a church, unfortunately, is a very valid target in their eyes.
How about “coalition”? That cranks my ire up too.
The Sheriff here in Jacksonville is constantly pleading with residents to please stop leaving their guns in their unlocked cars parked outside overnight.
They published a number and it was staggering how many guns are stolen from unlocked cars.
And that doesn't begin to count the thousands that now litter the bottoms of our lakes and rivers from innumerable tragic boating accidents ...
Podesta the Molesta rears his ugly face once again.
I carry at church, too.
So does our pastor! :)
Its everywhere. Here is St. Louis its a weekly event to have a couple dozen cars broken into at a time.
Even if they get one gun, it was worth it. (Course they will take any cellphones and other electronics, but guns are the real prize.)
I know how people feel about registration here on FR but getting your prized gun back without registration is impossible. The gun eventually gets confiscated by the police anyway via seizure after a crime or finding a person prohibited from carrying it.
Pookie will be toting it around until he whacks someone and then trades it or it goes in the Big Muddy.
