Sarah For Senate? (V)

Alaskans - are you upset that your Republican senator pulled the rug out from under the repeal of ObamaCare?

There's something you can do about it. A certain popular ex-governor is available and what she might lack in skills as an individual candidate, she certain has an eye for representing Alaskans first and foremost rather than the DC elites.

I'm speaking, of course, of Sarah Palin. While John McCain is going to be an asshat until he's dead and buried and Susan Collins will forever be a squishy liberal in RINO clothing, Murkowski is already on thin ice as the daughter of a corrupt fellow senator. She seems to represent the DC elites first, the GOP second and Alaska third.

One thing we can be sure of Sarah Palin is that she will put Alaska first, her party second and the DC elites last.

Someone close to Palin needs to convince her to run a primary contest against Murkowski when she is up for re-election and let Alaskans decide if they want Obamacare or not.

I think she'll be more effective being 1-in-100 rather than in an executive position. If she still wants a national career, this is the perfect opportunity and the perfect issue to launch her back into relevancy.

Good idea. We need someone to take out Murkowski.

She had her chance after she made her millions. She chose to stay on the sidelines. She’s just an ornament now.

Palin is so popular among Alaskans, do you forget, that Alaskans wrote in Murkowski instead of the Palin-endorsed Republican candidate Joe Miller.

I don’t think Sarah P is popular in Alaska now.

Murkowski brings in a lot of free stuff. It’s hard to beat Santa Claus even though she should be beaten!

“Good idea. We need someone to take out Murkowski”

Agree. But, doubt that it will happen. A not much mentioned fact is that there are now 35% of Alaskans on Medicaid. So, in reality Alaskans are not upset with Obama Care. The lower 48 perception of Alaskans being self sustaining individualistic frontiersmen is a urban myth. They seem to have become hooked on government free stuff....

Murkowski is not up for re-election until 2022 - you’ve got a long way to go for this.

Moreover, it probably doesn’t matter. Murkowski knows after 2010 that she can win an election without conservatives and without the Republican Party itself, and was even able to win without even being on the printed ballot all by herself in 2010. She was always squishy, but since that time she doesn’t even throw conservatives an occasional dog biscuit because she knows she doesn’t need us as part of her base to continue winning re-election.

Joe tried to run against her last cycle and got nowhere. Alaskans seem to like “royalty.”

The Medicaid issue should have been removed from the bill and dealt with separately if that was the hang up. The Medicaid expansion is creating a fiscal crisis and must be dealt with, but if we could have gotten rid of all of the other crises Obamacare has caused without touching that for now, it would have been worth it.

If she still wants a national career,

I think that Palin has achieved the ‘national career’ that she desires.
In addition, grandchildren are great to be around and with.

Both Alaska and Maine (Murkowski and Collins) have a LOT of folks, big percentages in low populiiton states, who are are very heavily dependent on entitlements.

How could we be sure the same forces that got her to resign as governor wouldn’t get Palin to resign as Senator?

She chose to stay on the sidelines. She’s just an ornament now.

And whose fault is that? During and after her VP run with McCain, not only her but her entire family were excoriated by not only the MSM but the GOP and resident FReepers as well............

She's not an "Ornament" dude, she was a sacrificial lamb who deserves more respect than what you are giving her...........

And what forces were that? It would help to be a little more specific in your accusation............

Murkowski is already on thin ice as the daughter of a corrupt fellow senator...Murkowski is there only because she is the daughter of a corrupt former senator - she was primaried out in the last election, but her father had enough political clout and allies around the state that she was elected by write-in over the Republican who actually ran against her - she should be a prime target this time around......

Hey dudette(hot dude). Ok so they ran her out. In 5 years she earned plenty of money b4 Murkowsky last won. She’d rather count her money and be an ornament.

If that’s the goal, then fine.

But quitting one gig (governor) is a pretty poor way to show you have what it takes for a similar one Senator

“This time around” is five years from now in 2022. She lost the primary in 2010 but in 2016 she got 72% of the primary vote. Her closest opponent got 15%.
