With all due respect, since Trump has sworn to protect and defend the Constitution, the references I mention are his guiding principles, whether he understands that at this point in time or not.
Well, he’s 71. He has time to learn and adopt them.

That is what I’ve been arguing. Actually, letting Obamacare fail was Trump’s first instinct. He said early on that he told Paul Ryan the BEST thing they could do politically was let Obamacare fail. It was a great idea because then they wouldn’t own the problems with it and the public would uniformly want it fixed. Instead, Trump took Paul Ryan’s advice and started with Obamacare when he wanted to start with taxes. The Republicans failed to deliver. Six months down the drain. In my opinion, he should have started with infrastructure (which would be bipartisan), then went to taxes, and when that was done, do Obamacare.
Is there anything even remotely resembling an infrastructure bill at this point?
Also, is there any actual need for an infrastructure bill? It would be very weird for the biggest legislative victory for this Republican Congress is massive renovations to JFK, LAX and O’Hare.
They must stop funding it, it wasn’t meant to be funded.
That sounds a lot like Lincoln’s adage that the best way to get rid of a bad law is to strictly enforce it.

As long as the date of the repeal is final, I have no problem with allowing a transition.
Trump thinks so. He ran on it. It might have been better to open with something bipartisan. That said, he wanted to start with tax reform, and he should have.

They should NEVER have said “Repeal and replace” just REPEAL..there was NOTHING to have to replace in the first place..we have had health care in this country for over 200 years, people from all over the world come here for good quality health care, can it use some tweaking, of course no system is perfect, but its sure of a lot better than single payer BS, just ask Charlie Gard, whenever anyone tells you that single payer is the way to go tell them to read about Charlie Gard

He wants Obamacare repealed and replaced with a decent plan. He is not a healthcare expert nor a legislator. The GOP congresume had 6 freaken years to create a repacement.
i still remember the post-inauguration video interview of Ryan where he SINCERELY guaranteed, no sweat, that obamacare would be repealed and the new tax reform bill would passed in the first 100 days of trump’s presidency.

He has no idea what "a decent plan" is, though ... and that's where he's been all over the map. All he probably knows is that it has to meet these three non-negotiable terms that Americans all seem to want in their health care plans:
1. They have to cover everyone.
2. They have to cover everything.
3. They can't cost much money.
In other words, there is no way to fix this problem because it's impossible to do all three of these things.
That is how you kill Obamacare. Then he can tell the senate to take a flying leap.
