Trump will ask Supreme Court to block judge's order on travel ban

The Trump administration said Friday it will ask the Supreme Court to block a federal judge’s ruling limiting the scope of President Trump’s travel ban.

“The Supreme Court has had to correct this lower court once, and we will now reluctantly return directly to the Supreme Court to again vindicate the rule of law and the executive branch's duty to protect the nation,” Attorney General Jeff Sessions said in a statement.

The decision came one day after a Hawaii-based judge dealt Trump a defeat by ordering the government to expand the number of people who are exempt from the controversial ban.

U.S. District Judge Derrick Watson, who was appointed by former President Barack Obama, said the Trump administration did not abide by a Supreme Court ruling that allowed a partial version of the ban to take effect.

The government began to allow residents of six Muslim-majority nations with immediate family in the U.S. to enter the country. Watson said those criteria were too narrow.

Watson was one of the federal judges who issued a nationwide injunction blocking the initial ban, as well as a revised version.

President Trump is THE top cop of the United States. It is HIS responsibility to enforce the law.

If these pissant petty tyrant judges have a problem with that there is one thing that they need to remember: they ALL have to answer to the President. They only APPLY The law. They DO NOT make law, nor do they have the ability to ENFORCE the law, nor does the federal government have any obligation to protect them when tbey piss off their constituents.

These are the literal cases that show why Trump needs to whack activist judges.

Which blackrobe on SCOTUS are you talking about? Except for Thomas, Alito, and Gorsuch, they should all get canned.

Constitutionally, however, you’d have to find “bad behavior.”

I wonder if “bad behavior” could have been meant to include essentially ignoring the Constitution as written and originally understood and intended when making a decision and writing an opinion.

He is doing the right thing. The aim of the left is to get him to break the law By ignoring a federal judge. Trump is right to not do that and to do it by the book and win that way.

And you may believe that the people of this country and not paying attention to this but you would be wrong just as you would have been wrong in thinking that Trump message to drain the swamp and his calling out of the media for what they really are wasn’t effective during the election.

If ever there was a lousy judge that should be impeached, it is this guy. The Senate wouldn’t remove him from office, but the House should be able to impeach him. It’s time to make an example, and show that these judges aren’t immune from repercussions for their unconstitutional decisions.

I wouldn’t go back to the SCOTUS on this. There are two better options. One would be to ignore the Hawaii Judge and let him try an enforce his order. The second would be to string out all relations claims by making them provide proof of relationship until the clock has run out.

SCOTUS has the _only_ jurisdiction of cases involving a state suing the Federal government.

Since SCOTUS has original jurisdiction, it has sole ability to hear these cases. No court nor precedence law has authority to change what USConstitution says.

Lawyers and government officials, lost in la-la traditions of men: follow the law, or perish.

The mental illness known as liberalism is a tool of satan. Judges like this lunatic won’t be satisfied until we’re all in slavery to islam.

No thanks, I’ll fight that until death.

Speaking of collusion, was there collusion between this judge and when zerobama visited Hawaii in order to stop the current President from doing his Constitutional duty?

We all know why the enemedia won’t touch on this collusion but it’s also the press, who has abused their power, which has given traitorous judges like this one, an un-Constitutional platform.

We the People of these United States need to impeach the traitorous enemedia as well, even at the local levels.

Send every single refugee to this judges home city. Things would turn around very quickly. This judge can then enjoy the suck he’s created.

“Speaking of collusion, was there collusion between this judge and when zerobama visited Hawaii in order to stop the current President from doing his Constitutional duty?”

Little doubt in my mind there was.

When 0bama nominated this sorry excuse for a judge I’d bet Watson knew he’d been bought and paid for.

“Watson was one of the federal judges who issued a nationwide injunction blocking the initial ban, as well as a revised version.”

To review: “The Judges, both of the supreme and inferior Courts, shall hold their Offices during good Behaviour . . .”

Judge Watson has begun behaving badly. It is time to open the gate and walk him on out.

For anybody following details, the administration is taking this to both SCOTUS and the 9th circuit, more or less simultaneously. In SCOTUS, there is still a question of whether the appeal will be directed to Kennedy alone, or to the entire court. I would involve the entire court, on the basis that it was the entire court that sunbstituted its injunction, for the one imposed by the District of Hawaii.

“...actually earns him praise from some of the left for being willing to follow procedure and just take it up to the Supreme Court each time”

Yeah, but this judge isn’t following proper procedure. The Supreme court already reversed the exact same ruling once. Trump shouldn’t have to appeal a second time.

The Supreme Court should issue a statement that the previous reversal still applies and warn this a-hole judge that contradicting a Supreme Court ruling is grounds for holding him in contempt of court.
