PORT ST. LUCIE, Florida Crossover athlete Tim Tebow hit a walk-off home run Thursday night for the St. Lucie Mets, the Class A Advanced affiliate for the New York MLB franchise.
During the second game in the days double header, Tebow enjoyed three at bats: hit by pitch, strike out, and home run, respectively. The designated hitter managed two runs in the game.
The young Mets bested the Daytona Tortugas, a Cincinnati Reds affiliate, 5 to 4.
Breitbart Sports previously reported how Tebow entered the day on an eight-game hitting streak:
Tebow has hit safely in 11 of his last 13 games for the Mets High-A ball minor league affiliate at Port St. Lucie. He also currently has an eight game win streak going. The AP compiled a list of Tebows stats last week and for the season. Heres a sampling of the damage that the Heisman Trophy winner and former NFL quarterback has done since getting promoted to High A-ball:

Winner. Every team needs a Tebow.
: )
Thanks for posting.
What is noteworthy is how much larger a man is Tebow than his teammates. Check out the celebration at the end.
I think it is GREAT Tim Tebow has found success in baseball.
All that talent and positive attitude would have been a waste in the not-so-good fit of football.
Go Tim!!! Next up, the Majors!
:)
I hope he makes it to the majors.
I hope makes it to the Mets. If not, the Astros might be a nice fit. Boy would he would he be popular down here in Houston.
Wow.
The NFL would rather have Cup-Her-Dink.
It's nice to see a guy with so much natural talent as Tebow getting a chance to find his niche. He's been out of college how many years now? (I almost forgot that he had an NFL career, too!) He's not sulking, either, demanding that he be traded, or holding out for contracts or endorsements. From what I've seen, he's an all-around nice guy, and he'd be an asset to any major league team and city.
Tim is playing Andvanced A ball.
His nexts stopS would be AA and AAA and then the majors.
The last 10 games he’s had good numbers, but overall his BA is 286, not really that good.

Tebow is a rare piece of good news these days. Glad to see him succeed. I’m hoping the Mets will bring him aboard this season.
Great guy, great athlete.
NOT a major league caliber baseball player and never will be.
His “hot week” was hitting .269 in 26 at bats. For the season he is hitting .236 and strikes out once every 3 at bats. And his fielding is poor, 8 errors. All of this in the lowest levels of the minor leagues against mostly 18-22 year old longshots. There is no way his baseball skills survive against real pros at the highest level.
It’s a fun story, harmless and puts butts in the seats in minor league parks. Heck the Mets may even call him up one day when they are eliminated from playoff contention to draw a crowd.
However, put nine players on the field with Tim Tebow's heart, energy and enthusiasm and your team will be a World Series contender year after year.
overall his BA is 286, not really that good

Batting average is the most well known stat but its just one of many that are used to evaluate a player’s offensive value so I wouldn’t conclude too much from that alone.
But if he continues to show improvement he will move to AA next year, and possible AAA by the end of the year.
He might get a "Cup of Coffee" in the Majors Next September or September 2019 if he continues to play at a decent level (IE .260 or higher BA at each successive level).
His high point might be as a utility/bench player in the Majors, but even that is probably beyond him to be honest. I would say his "Every day" ceiling will be AA, possibly AAA
Good for Tebow. But he must be in his late twenties by now - he obviously draws fans for the Mets farm team, but does he really have any shot at a major league roster spot? He was good on TV, and he could easily build toward a career in politics if he wants. Might be time to move on to life beyond professional athletics.
Baseball is the most individual of the team sports. In the sense that any time something goes wrong it is normally manifest who gets the error. Exceptions exist, but in basketball or football the assignments are usually not as clear cut.In baseball, if you drop a fly ball you get the error. All by your lonesome.
So much of baseball is the confrontation between pitcher and batter. In neither softball nor baseball can you be competitive without a good pitcher. If your pitcher blows up and cant get the ball over, the game is just no fun. I pitched windmill softball back in the day, and I remember on one occasion standing behind the rubber and reflecting to myself, Gee, its nice of all these guys (my teammates) to come here so I can have a game.
On one occasion guys from the neighborhood organized a pickup game against another neighborhood, and recruited me to pitch. Altho I wasnt playing in the very best circles, I was easily able to get on an organized team. Against that level of pitching expertise the opposition pick-up team never got a ball out of the infield, and wouldnt have ever reached first base except for one passed ball on a strikeout.
At the pitching position, certainly, an individual can dominate.
Last time I checked Kaepernick was vacationing in Ghana and not getting ready for an NFL camp.
No they wouldn’t. He is on the unemployment line as we speak with no prospect of landing a job. The Seahawks gave him a look back in May and passed on him. They are the only team that runs an offense compatible with his style of play. The only way Kaepernick gets a gig is if a team has a catastrophic QB injury. And even that is a dicey prospect.
