Good grief. These are elections we should be winning especially after seeing how long they were in Republican hands before this election. Republicans have to get out to vote in all elections period.

Brooks will replace ex-state Sen. Ralph Shortey, who is facing three felony counts alleging he solicited a 17-year-old boy for sex.

The first warning was anyone named "Senator Shortey". It's like someone called someone "Rep. Weiner".

Republicans need to give people a reason to vote for them. Other than not being democrats what do they have to offer?

While this is never good to see, it sounds like there were extenuating circumstances specific to these elections that made people want to punish the local GOP. I wouldn’t read too much into it at this point.

Both seats were vacated by Repubs where 1 was accused of sexual harassment and the other charged for child prostitution. I think that had a lot to do with motivation from Repubs to vote. No biggie lost, they can have those seats.

Did you even read the article?

One of the republicans resigned because he was involved in child prostitution and the other was accused of sexual harassment.

Are you surprised that democrats won?

Yay for the media! They finally got the juggernaut repudiation of Donald Trump they’ve been looking for. It’s the beginning of the end for the Trump train.

Or not ...

Both elections replacing Republicans accused of malfeasance in office - hopefully just the voters punishing the party for members who couldn’t meet even basic standards of decent adult behavior.....

No reason to panic. These were extremely low turnout elections in a state with a GOP supermajority where the people they were replacing were moral reprobates (hence, spanking the local party). As soon as they start voting moonbat, they won’t survive a regular election in 2018.

Not good.

But turnout was VERY low, can’t call it a rat wave. No one was paying attention to these, obviously including the state GOP.

Seats were vacant because of GOP scandals that probably had much more effect that national politics.

GOP State Senator in OKC was caught with an underage male prostitute, ugh. Seems like a competitive district, that one, only a 10 point hold in 2014 and was rat before 2010.

And GOP State Rep in Tulsa had sexual harassment scandal, that seat seemed very safe, until last year (59.5% R) it had not even been contested since 1998. We shouldn’t have trouble taking it back next year.

The RINOs of the former republican party are all One World Government cronies. They were stunned that Trump won and cost them even more ground in pushing the former great Republic of America further into a dictatorship of the left. If Hillary had won, it would have given them everything they wanted. But, she lost. These are small victories for the commies, but every win for them is a win. They will keep sniping away at Trump and hope to deal him a loss in the next congressional elections and hope to take away the house and senate. Even if Trump wins the WH again, if they control the house and senate, there will be nothing he can do for the next four years. The goal of the left is to drive this nation into another Cuba or Venezuela and destroy the nation as founded. Our kids are pounded daily in the public schools and colleges and they believe this crap. We, the conservative, Christians, side of the Republic are slowly dying off, getting older, and are being replaced by kids who don’t know the truth. Eventually, when we are all gone, America will be another France. That, I am glad to say, I will not be around to see.

Republicans have to get out to vote in all elections period

The Dems just won a seat in the NH Legislature that they haven't held for 100 years, after doing the same in May in another district.

The Republicans ARE getting out to vote. They're just voting for the Democrat.

The sooner the GOP is destroyed, the better.
