While this is never good to see, it sounds like there were extenuating circumstances specific to these elections that made people want to punish the local GOP. I wouldn’t read too much into it at this point.

I agree.
The people are punishing the party for the low moral standards of the POS’s involved.
A good candidate can flip them back at the next election.

State elections often turn on local issues rather than state.

That said, it doesn’t look good that the “farm team’ can’t get it’s act together and win.

Not good for election down the road.
