I hate to sound inhumane...., I don't mind sounding inhumane. It's a stupid idea. :-)

Prices will merely inflate to take advantage of the gov't subsidy. Approximately, "Zero Income" will be redefined up.

Great plan.

Rich liberals love to donate other people’s money.

How many people will leave the workforce when this happens. I would say a huge amount. I can see the dishes piling up in restaurants and lawns unmowed in parks and office buildings. Of course the ones around your house will be mowed because people will take the money under the table.

Also, inflation will cause everything to get more expensive. This will cause those getting money for nothing to have a pile of worthless money. And there will still be the addicts and the mentally ill still without any money, either because they could not fill out the form or because they spent it on drugs.

Then there will be the cost. This is more real. The government will have far more debt. It will have to get bigger to service the handout. And normal people will have higher taxes plus inflation. Its really just a big pile of stupid from Mr. Zuckerberg.

One thing that stood out to us is how different Alaska’s social safety net programs are in a way that provides some good lessons for the rest of our country.

Hey Mark, here is some details you might want to think about.
Population of the entire State of Alaska 750,000
Population of the city of Baltimore 615,000
Lets not get carried away comparing apples to oranges!

OK, I’ll play.

Let’s give every adult “x” dollars per year. Yes, it would indeed incentivize some people to become more productive. Many welfare programs work in the opposite direction.

BUT
When you run out of money, no food.
When you spend it all on crap or drugs, no section 8
When it’s all gone, and its the 28th of the month, too bad.
If you didn’t buy your medical insurance, tough luck.

Then, what will our friends in the media say? STARVATION! LIVING ON THE STREETS! WHAT ABOUT THE CHILDREN!

So......we give a few food coupons out... We open some homeless shelters......We subsidize medical care...

And where does that get us? Right back where we are.
Human nature does not change. The poor will always be with us. And a monthly check would change very little.

Well, why doesn’t he start, and give each of his lower paid employees a basic income on top of their existing income? Say a base of $15,000?

Makes perfect sense, give free money to people who don’t know how to use it or appreciate it. Then you market all manner of trinkets that they can buy using internet transactions.

Actually, it is genius because that forces people who are frugal to subsidize wasteful lifestyles of the sponge class.

Mark is just seeking a new market.

Alaska isn’t (yet) full of welfare queens and muzzies with 4 wives and 38 kids.

This is a dumb idea. The amount of the guaranteed minimum universal income soon becomes EQUAL TO ZERO in purchasing power. So the parasites will demand an increase, which rapidly becomes = 0, prompting the indolent slobs to march and picket for more money, and that loses its value and becomes effectively zero, leading them to demand more ......... (Repeat until doomsday).

How is it that a globalist snowflake stooge like this all of sudden thinks he’s qualified to give advice and make demands?

Money does strange things to people.

All he has to do is promise the snowflakes student loan amnesty and he'll win by a landslide.

He needn't even think about following through once he's in office.

It's the Washington Way.

I have an acquaintance who says that Zuckerman's idea "is right on so many levels." (I don't believe he considers me a friend any more because I had the nerve to hold him accountable.) He doesn't say why this idea is so correct but I can figure it out.

He has a mountain of student debt and two degrees which are pretty worthless to get a decent paying job. He's working on yet another degree on-line. He had no permanent base of operation but moves around the country, living with whoever will take him in. He stays there until he wears out his welcome and moves on. I believe that a month is the longest he has ever held a job but two weeks is more common. That's how long it takes for him to realize that his boss and/or all his co-workers are morons and he has to leave. He will not accept advice from anyone and is offended if it is offered (oddly, even when he asks for it).

I'm sure by now you've figured out why he likes Zuckerman's proposal. It will allow him to continue his career of freeloading. Why would anyone want to encourage this type of behavior?

They already do for the neighbors next door with their 58 year old daughter who also never worked a day in her life.

Time to eliminate all welfare and restrict SS disability.

Nothing like working your life with scum bag aholes like this getting up late in the morning just to get free breakfast at hortons.

Time to stop this crap. If you want to free load get use to not eating .

Sure, let’s model a welfare system after a state with higher rates of unemployment than the national average, and is in the top 10 for alcohol/drug abuse and domestic violence per capita.
