Mark Zuckerberg has been traveling around the country meeting people while denying he has any intentions of running for office. And yet, here he is making what amounts to policy recommendation for the United States. You could call this the first major plank in his non-platform. From his Facebook post:
Priscilla and I spent the weekend around Homer, Alaska as part of the Year of Travel challenge. Its beautiful here.
One thing that stood out to us is how different Alaskas social safety net programs are in a way that provides some good lessons for the rest of our country.
Alaska has a form of basic income called the Permanent Fund Dividend. Every year, a portion of the oil revenue the state makes is put into a fund.

“Give”. Who is giving it? Ah yes. Those who are working for it; forced to give the fruits of their labor to those who are not.
Slavery.
Hey, let’s use Mark Zuckerberg’s income to do so. He can donate all of his $$$ for the cause.
Idiot.
be interesting to see him only allowed this same income. . . .
LOL! Kinda incentive killing ain’t it. What are you striving for? Nothing.
For every state that has oil revenue, lets create a giveaway fund?
Oh wait
We’ll start by taking yours and dividing it by 300 million.
and free phone and access to Facebook.
He is working on 4 billion duplicate FB accounts as I type.
Hey, is he paying for it?
He is just starting his campaign for president earlier than the other democrats.
Since I probably won’t get Social Security, I’ll take my basic income now. Hey if they want to be dumb and give away money, let’s see how this works. What’s 50 trillion in debt anyway? Having 20 trillion in debt doesn’t even cause people to blink.
Start writing the checks, Suckerberg.
I’d love to know how much he is paying his custodial workers.
Why don’t you give everyone a basic income, Zuckerberg?
This is George McGovern part deux; I know because in 1972 I was young enough to be stupid enough to think it was a great idea that would end all the problems with welfare. Like David Horowitz and unfortunately unlike most liberals, I grew up.
We are- it’s called “Welfare” and you don’t even have to work for it.
Now... if he is talking about making them WORK and giving them a ‘basic income’... ok let’s listen to them whine about that being unfair
Better yet: “let’s give everyone a 1952 Mantle rookie baseball card; they’re worth $250K each!”
Same economic principle.
Sell off his assets and distribute to the needy. NOW
