Chemotherapy may spread cancer and trigger more aggressive tumours, warn scientists
Telegraph ^ | July 5, 2017 | Sarah Knapton

Chemotherapy could allow cancer to spread, and trigger more aggressive tumours, a new study suggests.

Researchers in the US studied the impact of drugs on patients with breast cancer and found medication increases the chance of cancer cells migrating to other parts of the body, where they are almost always lethal.

Around 55,000 women are diagnosed with breast cancer in Britain every year and 11,000 will die from their illness.

Many are given chemotherapy before surgery, but the new research suggests that, although it shrinks tumours in the short term, it could trigger the spread of cancer cells around the body.

It is thought the toxic medication switches on a repair mechanism in the body which ultimately allows tumours to grow back stronger. It also increases the number of ‘doorways’ on blood vessels which allow cancer to spread throughout the body.

LOL. Do yo work for big Pharma or the AMA?

I am suing for an entirely different but related reason; and I have all the conversations with my oncologist recorded.

Why are you trolling this antiChemo thread? Do some 21st century homework on chemo and then take up what I said with the Lord Jesus Christ.

Please stop trolling me. I have been civil and I am cancer free. So is my close relative, but it not because of chemo which devastated their lives. Again, I must praise You Lord God for revealing to me and to others the truth about cancer. Thank You Jesus, for my life. Praises be to Your Name.

This is not an anti-cancer thread. The article discussed a different option to proceed with solid tumors. It stated that chemo may cause break away cells to occur. Therefore instead of doing chemo and then surgery - one should do a few rounds of chemo, check for break away cells, if no break away cells have occured, finish chemo and go on to surgery. If break away cells have occured, give the patient a TKE (another type of targeted chemo), then finish chemo and then do surgery.

The fact you misinterpreted this article, tells me that you have misinterpreted many other things as well. God gave wisdom for modern medicine. I grew up in the church and have seen all types. Many of them believe that if they ‘name it and claim it’ it will happen. God is not a magician, nor are we a genie with a bottle. Common sense and making calculated decisions is what God would want. I was cured via modern medicine. Thank goodness we have it.

I did much of my internship and residency at a major academic cancer hospital.

What they taught us then is still the truth: “There are two interesting things about chemotherapy. First, that it works at all. Second, why doesn’t it work more often?”

Chemotherapy cures childhood leukemia, Hodgkin’s disease, testicular cancer, and not a whole lot else.

“what would you think would happen besides you collecting a hundred grand for “treatment schedules”?

If G-d forbid, you ever get Hodgkin’s disease, get back to us on your thought processes about what to do.

This conversation would never have gone back and forth had he not stated “Chemo has a recovery rate of 7%” and would not back of his source of information.

I have never heard this and can’t get one hit in a search. People do not need scaremongering.

Ah, O.K. I’ve not heard of that either.

Here is an article I thought was interesting:

Chemo Does Not Work 97 PerCent Of The Time

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5sJFyEDGpG4

This is the Australian study; the US study which I don’t have time to look up for you, HollyB, is 93 Percent of the time IT DOES NOT WORK.

It’s about money, not medicine.

P.S. I am a girl

Thank you for posting this, Sontagged. I came across another site where they were discussing this. They had a link to the entire study, but when I clicked on it, the McAfee warning came up...so I didn’t pursue it.

I have had friends die who did have chemo, and ones who did not. Many variables, I’m sure. But the bottom line is: I just don’t trust Big Pharma or Western Medicine. If I did develop cancer I wouldn’t choose to undergo that kind of treatment.

Thanks, I have no idea who that doctor is in the video, I just knew my stats were correct as my doctor repeated them to me in office.

Chemo is deadly. Here is that same Dr. Glidden saying that the American Cancer Society no longer says cured but moved the goal posts to say “five year survivability”

LOL. Feel better now that you and your fellow AMA paid trolls shut down an anti-Chemo thread?

Is that kind of thing part of what you do in life? Scary and not “conservative” at all.

You see, “conservatives” are anti Big Government.

And Big Government now controls Healthcare.

And Big Healthcare now dictates cancer protocols.

Thanks for modeling Animal Farm-ish tactics on FR.

A lot of that is insurance rules. Some newer treatments are not covered until after “conventional” therapy (typically chemo) has demonstrated clinical failure in the patient.

The drug I’m taking is not yet covered as a frontline treatment, though it definitely should be. I only became eligible after relapsing from chemo.

If you mean cornfedcowboy, I’d say he is a paid AMA troll doing his job here on FR to keep medical information that is not AMA approved off the site.

Trillion dollar businesses such as the state sponsored cancer cabal can afford to pay for PR trolls, I suppose.

I so agree with you CFC. Chemo has given me an extra 15 plus years and counting with my mother and has helped several other family members and friends. I have not met a single person who has died from the effects of chemo. Although I am sure it has happened, I personally don’t know them. The health of the patient at diagnosis and their exposures to germs/viruses, etc during treatment has a lot to do with how they handle treatment . Practicing medicine should be like an art because no two people are the same. We live in a country that has access and uses some of the best diagnostic equipment and medicines.

To be branded as a big pharma troll because someone does not agree is ridiculous and shows a lack of balance on ideas - take those ideas to the fringe and it can lead to paranoia. Not everything is a conspiracy

TR: Thought you’d find this humorous. I’ve been undercover before - but, not for big pharma! lol

Chemo kills, it is not a cure. It is a poison.

I didn’t accuse you of being a Big Pharma paid troll but if the shoe fits...

Cornfedcowboy said (and I have the screenshots saved) that he and his pals were trying to take down another anti Chemo thread of mine, and he or they were successful.

I am cancer free without cancer.

Chemo destroys and kills, it is not medicine, it is Russian roulette.

Are you saying a trillion dollar business like the State-sponsored cancer cabal wouldn’t have the inclination or money to hire internet PR trolls?

Where were you on the internet in the early days of Obamacare?

I’m glad you are doing well. I understand that the pharmaceutical industry has it’s issues. But, I’m not going to paint them with a broad brush. There is a lot of good in modern medicine. The treatment I received was 24/7 chemotherapy for a week straight and another one simultaneously. Yes, poison - it killed off good cells as well as the bad cells. But, it put me into remission in one week. Of course it would never have lasted, hense a need for more ‘poison’ to prepare for a bone marrow transplant. Yes, side effect sucked. But for now - this treatment for AML is the same as we’ve had for 40 years. It worked and it continues to work. But, I can see if someone is in very poor health (outside of this illness) that they may not handle this aggressive treatment so well. But, here’s the thing - when someone only has 2 weeks to live without immediate and aggressive treatment, you have to do something. 7+3 (the nick name for my treatment) worked and I thank God that he gave doctors the wisdom for this treatment, just as we have treatment for antibiotics, blood pressure meds, anti-fungals, anti-virals, and so many other meds that have helped people. Sure, I suffer from side effects neurapathy, chemo brain, and fatigue. But, I’m here so you have to understand my gratitude for my treatment - chemo.
