CNN would feel much more at home in North Korea.
CNN in general, and leftist dirt-digger Andrew Kaczynski in particular, researched the purported creator of the Trump animated meme in which he body-slams someone who has the CNN logo superimposed on his head. Kaczynski found out the Reddit user's real-life name and other personal information, contacted him, and ordered him to issue an apology, remove all his posts, and promise to never again engage in speech Kaczynski does not agree with. To back the order, Kaczynski threatened to reveal the real-life name and personal information of the Reddit user in question. He also reserved the 'right' to make good on the threat later, if the user does not conform. CNN's statement on the issue:
This sounds rather like the 1970's Vietnam, or North Korea, where a gun is held to the head of a prisoner while he is forced to issue a 'confession'. Granted, this time there is no physical firearm at anyone's temple. There is, however, a threat of harm -- financial harm, reputation harm, and loss of privacy -- that serves as a gun would in motivating the person to 'apologize'.
This is outrageous. This is unacceptable. This cannot stand.
In most communist and fascist dictatorships, where 'apologies' are coerced, the media usually follows the leadership. This is the first time I have seen the media LEAD the Revolution. Some time back, I observed that I had it wrong: The news networks and newspapers were not the puppets of the Democrats; instead, the Democrats are puppets of the News Media.
Further, like a North Korean Supreme Leader, they will not tolerate mockery, however slight it is.
Behavior of this sort from a supposedly 'impartial' news organization shows us where they would take our country, given the chance. They would gleefully gut the First Amendment, allowing no dissent of their views, or mockery of any kind. The first impulse among these people is that of the Totalitarian.
With the similarities to totalitarian regimes' behavior, I would not at all be surprised if the 'apology' CNN demanded read something like this:
I confess fully and without coercion that I have committed a serious crime against the Glorious Cable News Network, and that I had no knowledge of the severity and penalties that surround such a serious crime against the State. I beg forgiveness for my transgression, and plead for mercy. I was not forced to make this apology in any way, and I am grateful to the Glorious Cable News Network, who has treated me well, providing adequate food and medical attention. Long live the Glorious Cable News Network!"
I never would have thought a logical comparison could have been made between CNN and North Korea, but you made a convincing argument. Very nice piece of work!
CNNK
We should add a K to the end of every CNN logo we can find.

Laz, Your TOP comment so far this year! You da’man!
(Got the Cajo covered. They’ll never get to ya that way!)
The kid should sue CNNK for terroristic threats to a minor.

Check out article.
Thanks, Laz.
Truth
Oldest son showed it to me before CNN pulled their "lookee here, we know who the creator is and we're gonna out him if he does it again!" stunt.
CNN, LOSERS. Bragging about shit anyone could've done long before CNN did it.

Well-said, Laz. Thank you.
Good to see you back in the saddle good man.
I have no doubt that if Hitlery or one of her ilk won the election, death camps and ravines would be in play. And the MSM would be the right arm of it all.
What is worse is that the person that CNN thought did it was the wrong guy
Your graphic is spot on
