My son’s third grade teacher tried to tell us that our son had learning problems too. These idiot teachers just don’t like to deal with boys. Boys are naturally more wiggly and active. It doesn’t mean they have learning problems. The teachers just want them all drugged so they don’t have to deal with it. In my day, the boys got a paddle or sent to the principal if they couldn’t behave in class. Once that went out the window, all hell broke loose.
Too bad there isn’t a form all teachers must fill out:
How many school administrators have been tarred-and-feathered in your district in the past 30 days:
a) 1-5
b) 5-10
c) Greater than 10
How many tar-and-featherings of school administrators have you participated in in the past 30 days:
a) 1-2
b) 3-5
c) Greater than 5
All in all it’s just another brick in the wall.
Yes just what teachers need, more paperwork. Ugh. What on Earth has DeVos done? She’s been there since January and needs to suspend or get rid of these requirements. These were all Obama education secretary crap.
They must have stayed in a Holiday Inn Express the night before since they believe they’re professionally trained, and qualified to conduct those exams. Could lead to several lawsuits over kids being wrongly labeled by the school system. You know it’s going to happen, and I hope those parents sue the a$$ off the school district.
That's why they have a Union. The Union is failing them if they don't fight this crap. Back in 1980, I became a correction officer in NY State's prison system. One of our duties was to hand out medications each night when we went down the prison gallery to take the count. We were handing out controlled substances (Elavil, Sinequan, etc.), not pills, but liquid form. The meds came in huge bottles, that we had to dispense with an eyedropper that was attached to the bottle cap. I don't know how long this procedure had been in effect before I started, but at some point, over the next couple of years, the Union fought to get this part of our job reassigned to the medical department, which is where it should have been to begin with. I believe the Union threatened a lawsuit based on the fact that we weren't medically certified to administer drugs of any type. The State had to make drastic changes, which meant that the prisoners would have to be placed on a daily "call out" to go to the infirmary to have their meds dispensed by medical personnel. This was still the practice when I retired in 2003.
HAHAHA The TEACHERS should be getting mental health assessments!
bump for later
Definitely!... Another Reason to Homeschool.
This ping list is for the other articles of interest to homeschoolers about education and public school. This can occasionally be a fairly high volume list. Articles pinged to the Another Reason to Homeschool List will be given the keyword of ARTH. (If I remember. If I forget, please feel free to add it yourself)
The main Homeschool Ping List handles the homeschool-specific articles. I hold both the Homeschool Ping List and the Another Reason to Homeschool Ping list. Please freepmail me to let me know if you would like to be added to or removed from either list, or both.
What qualifies them to perform any such exam?
Nothing.
Eggs actly. Maybe it’s like when I worked for a buddy of mine who at the time was an FFL. I apparently was covered to sell as his employee without having my own. So maybe if school teachers (?) met a trained/certified/licensed mental health pro ever in their life they were/are covered? Nah.
