Legal Expert Gregg Jarrett: Mueller Hopelessly Conflicted, POTUS Should DEMAND He Resign

FOX News analyst Gregg Jarrett: Mueller is Hopelessly Conflicted in Violating the Law, President Should DEMAND He Resign

“ Gregg Jarrett: Of all of the president’s tweets he’s never tweeted that Mueller is hopelessly conflicted in violating the law and should resign. And the president should actually demand that he resign.

Gregg Jarrett wrote about Mueller’s conflict of interests in yesterday’s column at FOX News.

The Washington Post is reporting that Robert Mueller is now investigating President Trump for obstruction of justice, examining not only the president’s alleged statement to James Comey in their February meeting, but also the firing of the FBI Director.

If true, this development makes the argument even more compelling that Mueller cannot serve as special counsel. He has an egregious conflict of interest.

The special counsel statute specifically prohibits Mueller from serving if he has “a personal relationship with any person substantially involved in the investigation or prosecution.” The language is mandatory. He “shall” disqualify himself. Comey is substantially involved in the case. Indeed, he is the central witness.

The two men and former colleagues have long been friends, allies and partners. Agents have quipped that they were joined at the hip while at the Department of Justice and the FBI. They have a mentor-protégé relationship. The likelihood of prejudice and favoritism is glaring and severe.

So, it is incomprehensible that the man who is a close friend of the star witness against the president… will now determine whether the president committed a prosecutable crime in his dealings with Mueller’s good friend.

Oh it’s going to Independent whatever. They are going to drag this on for all of Trump’s 8 years. I see it on the wall already.

We need a special counsel to investigate special counsel Mueller’s conflicts of interest ASAP.

Getting Mueller out is either going to require direct action by Trump or massive people power demonstrations against the corrupt Uniparty that is plotting day and night to sabotage and remove Trump from office. There needs to be a national effort by Trump’s base to push back against the DC piranha. The GOP is either passive or complicit. There are a few national voices that are helping, like Lou Dobbs, but there needs to be much more to save the country.

Let me see if I understand this...

1. Trump was not being investigated by the FBI.

2. Sessions recused himself anyway.

3. Rosenstein steps in and appoints independent counsel Mueller.

4. Mueller's appointment was found to be manipulated through illegal leaks via Comey as retaliation for being fired by Trump.

5. Mueller is widening the investigation because his original charter was busted by Comey's testimony.

6. Rosenstein now says he needs to recuse himself.

7. Mueller is now being overseen by the #3 at the Justice Department? Is there even a #3 yet who was confirmed by the Senate?

Trump needs to shut this down. He needs to retake control and say that Mueller's charter was to investigate Russian collusion, and Russian collusion alone. If there can no longer be any proper oversight in the Justice Department due to recusals, then the investigation has to stop until and unless a reframed investigation is shown to be necessary and proper.

The emphasis is on "proper." It must be shown that the currently constructed investigation is overly broad, partisanly staffed, has no checks and balances anymore, and therefore lacks credibility. If there is to be an investigation, it cannot be a repurposing of another investigation created under false premises. It must be established on its own merits.

Only then should a new investigation be authorized.

Kudos to Jarrett for pointing out the obvious that so many other hacks including Rosenstein ignore or brush away. Point out the regulation with citations to the rules and just fire Mueller.

Jarret is on fire over at Fox Business!

Jarrett: Mueller Needs to Resign – “This Is the Kind of Stuff Over Which Lawyers Get Disbarred” (VIDEO) Jim Hoft Jun 15th, 2017 6:13 pm —317 Comments FOX News legal expert Gregg Jarrett suggested today Robert Mueller should disqualify himself from special counsel due to his relationship with James Comey. The special counsel could not find any evidence of collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia so now they are going for obstruction of justice charges according to the latest deep state leads to the liberal media. Donald Trump responded tonight to this ongoing witch hunt. He asked about Hillary’s crooked dealings with Russia. And Hillary Clinton’s obstruction of justice. Gregg Jarrett says Mueller must recuse himself. Gregg Jarrett: If you look at the special counsel statute it says you cannot serve as special counsel if you have a personal relationship with someone who is central to the case. If this Washington Post story is true, it’s now Trump against Comey. Comey is now the star witness, the key witness against Trump. Well, guess what? Comey and Mueller are longtime close personal friends, partners, allies. They were joined at the hip at the DOJ and FBI. It’s a mentor-protege relationship. How is this fair to Donald Trump because Mueller is now going to decide whether to believe his good friend or the man who fired his good friend… … This is the kind of stuff over which lawyers get disbarred. If does not resign then Rod Rosenstein out to fire Mueller. http://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2017/06/jarrett-mueller-needs-resign-kind-stuff-lawyers-get-disbarred-video/

I think we’re all this conflict of interest about Mahler Trump should be able to replace Miller and replace him with a CO Council. Appoint a Republican and a Democrat and go from there.

“...the corrupt Uniparty that is plotting day and night to sabotage and remove Trump from office....”

There has got to be some element of SUBVERSION in this obvious attempt to unseat a sitting President.

Trump should have AG Sessions appoint a special prosecutor to look into the possible illegal activities/collusions of Mueller.

The point of my post is that Trump should frame shutting this down as an investigation that is hopelessly out of control, and that needs to be reconstituted properly.

He can say that he's not firing Mueller, but that he's stopping an investigation that is wrought with impropriety and has lost credibility. Trump should say that he's willing to reopen a necessary and proper investigation, but that this isn't that.

Then we can see if that reframed investigation ever does get started.

Good for Gregg!

This will probably cost him his job at Faux, the no longer fair and balanced news channel.
