I predict that if it happens, it will be state-based, urban/rural and start in California or the Pacific NW. There are a lot of folks there that have had it with leftist state governments that are in power due only to big city progressive base. Could happen in Texas with Austin, inner-city Dallas, Houston.

I take your point, but this is one of the most ridiculous threads I’ve seen on FR.

I live in one of the most liberal counties in the country - and a majority Black county.

Nobody here seems terribly concerned about all of this stuff. Even the mindlessly flaming libs that I know and work with, aren’t paying attention. They just want to live their personal lives as they’ve always done. Their political spoutings are mindless talking-points that they’ve picked up, and are just in aid of their need for ‘self esteem’. None of them have convictions powerful enough to cause them to risk anything.

You’d have to really rally, to get people to take up arms - and, against WHAT? Political machinations that most of them don’t understand or to which they don’t even pay any attention?

Well, I’ll tell you, there is a huge difference in mindset in rural Upstate NY than the cities, especially NYC.

I KNOW there are militias in my area.

I talked to one member once and still have the card he gave me. I have my suspicions about a neighbor of ours down the street who is very vocal in speaking out against the SAFE Act.

About the CWII Ping List

The CWII Ping List is short for Civil War II. It is NOT a list of people advocating another Civil War in America. It is a list of people who are interested in the parallels between the Civil War (or War Between the States, if you prefer) and our current situation, or more generally are noting the references to a 'coming Civil War' that are made in the press.

Of course sometimes this is merely a figure of speech, such as "The Tea Parties are fighting a civil war for the heart of the GOP". This would not merit a CWII ping.

On the other hand someone saying something like "The events in California are reminiscent of what happened in Yugoslavia in the period proceeding the Civil War" would merit a ping.

FR rules do not permit advocating for the overthrow of the Republic, and I am not aware of anyone doing so on the list. Still many do see that as the political climate worsens we may be heading in a direction that makes such a conflict all but inevitable, particularly if other avenues for resolving our differences are taken away. Such as widespread vote fraud by leftists making elections meaningless, or a small cadre of judges over-ruling all attempts to end destructive policies over the clear will of the people.

The correct keyword tag for the Civil War II ping list is "CWII".
