Senator McCain has obviously been slipping recently and was very confused today. Despite his faults, he did attempt something no other Senator was willing to do. He tried to point out that if this investigation is about Russian involvement with the 2016 election, why is the FBI not looking at involvement with both campaigns. He got confused with the earlier email issue but someone should have picked up the point. Has the FBI looked at Russian ties with John Podesta and other Clinton campaign officials or is this just about the Trump campaign. Why would Russian influence on Trumps campaign be more important that their influence on Clinton’s campaign.
Perfectly understandable given past experience. ;^)
It makes me furious that Obama got away with so many laws broken and crimes committed. The idiot Republicans were so weak. The Clintons another level of crime that they have gotten away with

IS there a procedure to deal with senility/Alzheimers in elected officials? If not, why not? We can’t have seriously mentally impaired people in positions of power. McCain is seriously brainburned, I don’t care what you call it, but he’s too messed up to hold ANY office; but I suppose to his retired and similarly impaired voters he seems normal.
What is WITH Cavuto, lately? He’s mad because Trump straightened him out, publicly, on some issue or another, and will not appear with Neil on his show.
WTH does Neil want behaving like this?? Surely, he was never a Hillary supporter. Does he want her in the WH? Does he seriously want a decent man impeached????

No you can’t get him out. He ran against a good conservative, J.D. Hayworth in 08, and outspent Hayworth 17 to 1. We MUST have term limits to survive, methinks.

Yikes. Outside of his shocking confusion in getting Comey and Trump mixed up, this is my take on what he was asking:
He was trying to make the point that the 2016 Election is being investigated for Russian interference. It is an ongoing investigation.
Hillary Clinton and her email server have been widely reported to be compromised by Russian hacking. It HAS to be part of the Russian probe.
McCain was asking Comey how the investigation into her email system can be closed and no wrongdoing found if her server was involved in her 2016 election activities.
Not so’s you’d notice.
He just does what his staffers who are in the pocket of certain lobbyists tell him to do.
Even when Comey tried to help him by explaining the difference, McCain didn’t get it and rambled on.
since he isn’t even a member of that committee, he should stay away instead of revealing his cognitive problem in public.
And it is time for his family and friends to get him to retire to keep him from future faux pas.
I take care of my mother who has Alzheimers so I hope folks on FR will not be viciously unkind to McCain.

Having watched Lindsey what’s-his-name changing his tune recently, not toeing the McCain line, I have to ask if McCain’s “state of mind” is an extreme load of guilt over the persecution of an innocent man — yes, Mr. Trump — that he (McCain) unleashed by participating in the phony Russian dossier. A normal person would have trouble living with himself.

You’re both correct. I watched McCain today and “slight stroke” was my first thought. He looked out of sorts and I thought he looked old, slow and tired today. He was most definitely confused: ‘President Comey,’ although his points about “candidate Hillary” were well taken.
His mother, Roberta, and her twin sister are 104 years young and both enjoy sound minds. I don’t think John is destined to enjoy their mental health.
That’s how I took it. You closed the case on someone who is absolutely guilty but kept open a case with nothing but rumors and innuendos.
