“Ask” is not the same as “demand”. As it was obvious at that point that Michael Flynn had not compromised any national secrets with his contact with Russian officialdom, further research efforts would be rather pointless.

What got Michael Flynn in trouble was not the fact he had been in contact with foreign agents, or revealed any state secrets, but that he had not disclosed the contacts completely in the process of being vetted.

My guess is if Comey felt pressure it suddenly started after he got fired. It was my belief Comey only kept the investigations going to keep his job and daring Trump to fire him.

A quote from Rogers..and yes..you are right about the nuance

“In the three-plus years that I have been director of the National Security Agency, I have never been directed to do anything I believe to be illegal, immoral, unethical or inappropriate and to the best of my recollection during that same period of service I do not recall ever feeling pressured to do so”

Total FAKE NEWS headline.

Comey goes on to state that he believed DJT WASN’T REFERRING TO THE RUSSIAN INVESTIGATION, BUT INSTEAD LIMITED TO FLYNN’S COMMENTS TO PENCE.

Also, Comey affirms that he told DJT three times he WASN’T the subject of the Russian investigation. This substantiates DJTs comments in the Lester Holt interview.

This is clown show is now borderline insanity, and starting to become dangerous.

For those that don't know the difference between Obstruction of Justice or not:

Obstruction of Justice:

"Hey Mr. Prosecuting Attorney. You need to drop all charges against my buddy Tom immediately, I'm good friends with your boss and the Bar Association and lets just say you're career in this town will be over and you'll be looking for a new job this time next week, if you don't make these charges go away."

Not Obstruction of Justice (what Trump did):

"I can't believe you all are going after my buddy Tom. I've known him all my life, he's a great guy, honest as the day is long. I really wish you all would leave him alone and just drop this nonsense."

This is a re-hash of old news. It came out shortly after Comey was let go.

What is his former law enforcement experience?

So, Mr. Comey—Were you lying during your previous testimony, or are you lying now?

Isn’t it routine for a defense attorney to ask the judge to dismiss the case?

Remember when Bill Clinton tried to finagle his way out by questioning the use of the word “is” during his impeachment proceedings? Comey is trying to do the same and a lot of people aren’t buying it.

Quote: “Legally, I think Coats will have to answer the question to his superiors..Gang of 8. I don’t believe he has to answer in public.”

Legally, in order to obstruct justice one must feel pressured to stop an investigation. In addition, how the hell would one not feel “pressured” if one was asked to drop an investigation by the President. I suppose what I am saying is “potato, potaaaato.”

Forgot the “I hope you can find a way to...”

...not ‘I want you to’ or ‘I order you to’.

Comey is going to look like an ass tomorrow as he tap dances his way through the hearing spewing legal political speak. Everyone I know out here in the real world is SICK of Dirty Cop Comedy, the Russia farce, the lack of “lock her (or anyone else) up”, & the fake news media.

Get Comedy off the stage & get on with America’s business as best can be done with the Democrap/Repulipuke resistance hanging like a millstone around Trump’s neck.

“Hasn’t he already testified under oath that Trump did not ask him to let it go?”

He’s going to say Trump had the intent of asking him to let it go.
