Former FBI Director James Comey will say Thursday that President Donald Trump asked him about the former national security adviser Michael Flynn and to "see your way clear to letting this go," according to a copy of his opening remarks posted online.

He hasn’t even testified yet. And TODAY of all days two intel heads who were cited in a WaPo article as having been asked by Trump to kill any investigations into collusion of the Trump campaign with Russia said it was FALSE.
So what?
If doing so was a crime, then Comey was obligated to report it, and he didn’t, so it wasn’t.
A request to put these fake allegations based on an unverified report commissioned by your political opponents during a Presidential campaign is not an order and is a reasonable request to spare the country what we now see being played out in the press.

Trump has every right to not "ask", but TELL Comey to let the Flynn investigation go.

Actually, using legal speak...that is not what they said if I saw what they actually said. I didn’t watch it.
I believe Coats won’t answer the question in public. He said something to the effect he didn’t feel pressured.
Not the same thing as Trump never asked.
Legally, I think Coats will have to answer the question to his superiors..Gang of 8. I don’t believe he has to answer in public.
Hasn’t he already testified under oath that Trump did not ask him to let it go?
If Comey does... charge him with perjury and instruction of justice....
He admittedly lied and did not report it when it occurred... This obviously plain to see....

Asking and Pressuring are not the same thing. That is where the nuance is.
This is textbook gaslighting. Trying to make something out of nothing. It didn’t stop Trump in the election and it won’t now.

Comey’s statement explicitly says Trump was not trying to impede the wider Russian investigation concerning Flynn. IE, no obstruction of Justice.
Also Comey’s statement backs up Pres Trump’s statement that Comey told him on three occasions Trump was NOT a target of investigation.
Lies of omission are lies nonetheless. Comey’s a liar, a perjurer.
He wasn’t ordering anything, just asking a favor. The fact is, once someone falls into the Washington swamp investigation machine, they never come out. Ray Donovan asked where he was supposed to go to get his reputation back. No doubt, Trump feels bad because had he not appointed Flynn there never would have been this phony investigation he has fallen into.
