WASHINGTON (AP) — The White House and its allies are scrambling for ways to offset potential damage from fired FBI Director James Comey’s highly anticipated congressional testimony, an appearance that could expose new details about his discussions with President Donald Trump about the federal investigation into Russia’s election meddling.
Asked about the testimony, Trump on Tuesday was tight-lipped: “I wish him luck,” he told reporters before a meeting with lawmakers.

I think there are a bunch of Fake Journalists out there who are going to end up with a whole lot of egg on their face after Comney is done. I suspect this whole farce is more a product of Leftist political dementia then anything grounded in fact.
The coming back to the make and saying...oh never mind...it was nothing. Then there's the meet on the tarmac.
What he should have done....is resigned right there cuz Clinton and her cronies have now screwed him royally.
His testimony is just a "get of jail free card". It may or may not work.
And I'm sure he prayed every day to get fired by Trump. It was the best out.
Now the GOP should immediately get these items removed from the list of items Welfare recipients can purchase.

I agree. Comey is not a lawman, he is a prosecuting attorney and a crooked, venal one at that.
I know someone who thinks Trump will be damaged by how he fired Comey. He thinks the firing was “non-strategic” thinking on Trump’s part.
I disagree, I can’t see how anything about how Trump fired Comey so abruptly will carry any weight in the hearings tomorrow.

Read between the lines of the Congressional subpoenas.
They are asking about unmasking by Rice, Brennan AND Samantha Powers.
Samantha Powers had absolutely no legal justification for being involved in the unmasking process.
Now who, pray tell, would have had ultimate responsibility for the approved unmasking?
Comey and the FBI, perhaps?
There is a very good reason that the CIA and FBI are stonewalling on this.
There are other reasons why they should not be stone walling such as cover ups and obstruction of justice
Comey has been set up to be the fall guy for Clapper, Brennan and Rice.

Trump said “I wish him luck”, which can be interpreted as...
“He will need it after testifying and finding democrats losing their collective minds and going after him as a Trump stooge and as a corrupt FBI director.”

Well, if he has 10% of the intel Obama got then Comey will probably walk a tightrope and will be typically light in the loafers.

Particularly if, as has been mentioned, Trump’s people cleaned out Comey’s office before he could return from California.
If Comey does testify and if he does tell the truth, then yeah. He will do a great deal of personal harm and damage.
Not to Trump, of course. But to his former bosses, Lynch and Obama. And to Hillary too of course.
But I suspect Comey does not want to meet Seth Rich anytime soon, so I expect he will not spill the beans.
This is kind of like the way some Federal courts are frowning on Donald’s travel restriction policies because Donald somehow has to be filled with hate, not because it’s illegal for a president to do.
The people calling Donald filled with hate are projecting.
