Chris Christie’s Legacy Likely Won’t Include A GOP Successor
Five Thirty Eight ^ | June 6, 2017 | Harry Enten

What happens if a state with a population roughly equal to that of Kentucky and Louisiana combined held a major election and no one noticed? That seems to be occurring in New Jersey, which is electing a new governor this year. It may be the Democrats’ biggest gubernatorial win in the state in over 40 years.

A Democratic romp in a state Hillary Clinton won easily might not seem like a surprising result. But New Jersey usually features competitive governor’s races. Over the past 40 years, Democrats have won the governor’s mansion four times to Republicans’ six. New Jersey’s current governor is Republican Chris Christie; he won re-election by over 20 percentage points in 2013. (That was when he seemed like the great GOP hope — remember those days?)

Crispy Cream is not a Republican. Not close to being a conservative

NJ gubernatorial elections go like this: Democrat wins and before he's done he is mired and scandals and is hated. The state's situations get worse. In response a Republican wins. But they are totally ineffective RINOs that don't actually do anything. The state's situation gets even worse. In response, a Democrat wins and the cycle renews. It comes down to corrupt vs incompetent.

The only constants voters can count on from election to election are: Dem candidate will be corrupt if he wins, Republican will be incompetent if he wins, both would make things worse.

I forgot to add: Every Dem governor will immediately raise taxes through the roof. Every Republican governor will say he wants to lower taxes and then slowly raise them over time. Net effect: about the same.

In New Jersey, Chris Christie looks like Pat Buchanan compared to the dreck that the GOP rolls out for these elections.

In defense of the state’s Republican governors, I’ll point out that it seems like the state legislature has been under Democrat control since electricity was invented.

538 includes the geniuses who gave Trump less than 1% chance of winning. So, yawn...

Krispy Kreme for Senate. It’s the best we can do unless you have the hots for Krispie Todd.

NJ voters, before you vote look at Connecticut with their wonderful Democratic governor. He’s chasing corporations away....

It was heavily Republican in the 1990s. Leftist RINO twats like Christie Toad Whitman pissed it all away.
