People who witnessed two deadly terrorist attacks in London on Saturday reportedly said some bystanders fought back, throwing glass bottles and hurling chairs at the suspects.
London Metropolitan Police said seven people died and at least 48 others were injured in the incidents on London Bridge and in Borough Market, in addition to the three male suspects who were fatally shot by police.
One witness, identified only as Ben, told the BBC that he and his wife saw a stabbing at Borough Market. "I saw a man in red with quite a large blade -- I don't know the measurement, I guess maybe 10 inches," he said. "He was stabbing a man. He stabbed him about three times fairly calmly." Before fleeing the scene, Ben said he saw someone throw a table and a glass bottle at the suspect.

The first cops on scene were in fact unarmed. I have yet to see any info on how much longer it took armed personnel to arrive. Don’t ask; don’t tell?

UK government instructions to people are to Run, Hide and Tell. Fighting back to save your own life is not approved behaviour.
The real question is when will the British government fight back instead of encouraging run, hide or hug a teddy bear?
I think the reason they weren’t just dog piled is they were all supposedly wearing fake explosive vests like the ones that killed the French priest. Especially after Manchester I think it is going to be pretty hard to jump on a jihadi scumbag who had canisters strapped to their torso.

I saw descriptions of some unarmed London bobbies running away.
They do have armed response teams but the “community” cops are unarmed.
Reportedly the 3 terrorists were shot dead within 8 minutes of the start of the attacks. That is good response from one perspective, in a huge city and with the uncertainties of an unfolding series of attacks. But for such a central area of London, not to have armed police able to respond almost instantly seems very peculiar.
Call the cops after you are dead—that is the Euro plan. :-(
