The movie studios are quickly abandoning American audiences because they know there are a billion Chinese people to whom they can serve up anti-American movies.

Why the Hell would they want to concern themselves about politics or who is in the WH?

Two reasons:

1. They think that most of their fan-base is in agreement with them, so they think that they are doing themselves (their careers) a big favor by issuing such public statements. - A corollary: They wouldn't get as much coverage ("good publicity!") if they made pro-Conservative statements (the journalists would ignore them).

2. Deep down inside, they realize just how inconsequential they are, and believe that they can counteract that by making "virtuous" public statements.

Then again, they might only be "mouthing off" without thinking of the consequences.

Actually, there's a photo and twitter post on the Internet that shows her and her daughter lighting the Sabbath candles, and she tweeted her support for the IDF fighting against Hamas!

She's gotten a little leftist blowback on that, but far more support, so I don't think she cares.

I've never seen any of the movies beyond a few YouTube clips, but I was creeped out by the portrayal of Captain America. Looked like he was wearing lipstick:

Damned! I just bought a few Captain America packs of cards at a discount store. I liked the movies so why did this actor go and spoil it all by betraying the very character that made him a screen hero?

Damned! I turned down buying “Thor” cards for my grandchildren because I wasn’t too enthralled by the movie (though it wasn’t too bad), and I got a card with a piece of “ Loki’s” custom on it.

Well, back to “Guardians of the Galaxy”. The first movie was awesome and so were the cards. Star Wars move over, though my SW autographs and some cards will put someone through the first year of college. Add in my Star Trek collection and it’s on to graduate school.

An interesting article. I collected comics starting in the 1970s, but got serious about it in the mid 1980s. When I saw the name "Mile High Comics," I had to smile. I subscribed to a number of books through them, including Iron Man, X-Men, Spiderman, and Thor. My subscription was 2 copies of each book, every month: 1 to read, and 1 right into the archives. Their subscription even included free mylar bags for long term storage.

I noticed prices rising, and gave it up around 1991 or so. Plus I noticed the quality of the art and stories falling.

Personally, I've always thought the best books ever were the X-Men by John Byrne (artist) and Chris Claremont (story.)
