If Only Republicans Got Behind the Trump Agenda
The Rush Limbaugh Show ^ | May 25, 2017 | Rush Limbaugh

Posted on 05/25/2017 5:04:39 PM PDT by COBOL2Java

RUSH: I just saw a little story on CNN. Mitch McConnell’s out there saying, “I don’t know where, I don’t know how, I just don’t see how I’m gonna get 50 votes for the House health care bill. I just don’t see it.” No surprise, is it? The Republicans own the Senate. Well, they run it. They own the House, and the Republicans, “I don’t know where we’re gonna find the votes for this.”

This is just outrageous. In fact, I’ve got a Wall Street Journal story today talking about — we’ve been talking about this ourselves — if the Republicans would just unify behind this agenda, it would render all of these media attempts at assassinating Trump irrelevant. Just move this agenda.

You know, even Uncle Bob was on CNN today saying so. You’ve forgotten who Uncle Bob is? Bill Bennett’s brother, lawyer, defended Clinton? And Uncle Bob’s out there saying, “Look, ignore this. Go out and hire your lawyer, whoever you hire, and then just start moving your agenda.” And that’s exactly right! Just get going on this. The budget is good; the health care reform; all of these things are a good start, immigration, the reason Trump was elected.

It took 100 some odd days for someone to figure this out? President Trump can suggest, recommend, cajole, urge etc but the house and senate legislate laws.

immigration, the reason Trump was elected.
!~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Precisely why the GOP does not want him to succeed at anything.
They want to stall him from restoring the rule of law and stopping the Cheap Labor Express.
They hope they can make him a one term wonder so they can get back to business as usual, importing cheap labor and selling out America.

for a change, here are 22 Senators showing some support. it includes McConnell, Inhofe, Cruz, Rand Paul, etc.

hope someone will post this on its own, as i don’t know how to do that.

this story has been up for 10 hours, and NYT, WaPo & others aren’t touching it, but they will put up pro-Paris stories in minutes. Fox Business, Breitbart, The Hill have it too.

25 May: Washington Times: Republicans warn Trump: Staying in Paris deal will preserve Obama-era regulations
by Ben Wolfgang
“Because of existing provisions within the Clean Air Act and others embedded in the Paris Agreement, remaining in it would subject the United States to significant litigation risk that could upend your administration’s ability to fulfill its goal of rescinding the Clean Power Plan. Accordingly, we strongly encourage you to make a clean break from the Paris Agreement,” wrote the group of senators, which includes Sen. Jim Inhofe, Oklahoma Republican, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and others...
“It is clear that those advocating for greenhouse gas regulations will use the Paris Agreement as a legal defense against your actions to rescind the Clean Power Plan if you decide to remain in the Paris Agreement. This is why it is so important for you to make a clean exit from the Agreement,” the Republican senators wrote...

apologies. I searched beyond the news pieces showing up in google search and found that NYT and WaPo are both carrying a piece from Associated Press:

25 May: NYT: AP: Michael Biesecker: 22 GOP Senators Want US to Pull Out of Paris Climate Accord
Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and 21 other Republicans on Thursday urged President Donald Trump to follow through on his campaign pledge to pull out of the Paris climate accord...
The letter signers account for fewer than half of Senate Republicans. A similar letter was also sent to Trump this week by attorneys general from 10 Republican-led states, including oil-rich Texas and coal-dependent West Virginia...
During Trump’s visit to Rome this week, Pope Francis also urged Trump to take climate change seriously.
https://www.nytimes.com/aponline/2017/05/25/us/politics/ap-us-united-states-climate-change.html?_r=0

Associated Press must know there is no evidence for saying Pope Frances urged Trump to take climate change seriously.

I'm a Deplorable. I am no longer a Rebublican, because in OH they are mostly traitors and part of the coup. So I called Sherrod Brown's Cleveland office today and had an excellent conversation with his aide.

I explained that I am a Deplorable, a lifelong conservative, and so far right that I'm as apt to agree with Kuninich as much as the Republicans running the DC show. I expressed my DISGUST that there is a President who will sign anything reasonable that the 535 people elected to DC pass and send to his desk. Yet NO ONE can come up with anything so obvious that helps little folk that they can't agree and pass it? I praised Senator Brown for not being one of the hateful negatives.

I made two suggestions: (1)if someone signs up for a blind test of a new drug or therapy and it is healing for them, they should have FREE access to that cure as long as they need it. They risked their lives by being in that study, so it's only fair. (2) The other suggestion was a bill to get advertising for pharmaceuticals banned. Liquor and tobacco can't be advertised, so why pharmaceuticals, which should be chosen in an honest conversation between doctor and patient?

Anyway, I laid down that challenge for Senator Brown....just find ONE THING to agree on for the good of US citizens. Pass it and get it signed. In return, I will initiate a Deplorables of Sherrod Brown support group. The aide actually thought it was a great idea.

Stay tuned. Maybe some good will come of this.

But here’s the thing about the President’s agenda: he never presented an actual plan to replace the ACA; his tax reform plan is a series of bullet points that needs considerable fleshing out; and his budget proposal has a couple trillion dollar accounting error. That is not a lot to get behind.

Are there any real and honest conservative republicans in the Senate at this time?

It's worse than that. Not only is the Senate lacking real and honest conservatives (the closest would be Cruz - his personal issues notwithstanding), the Senate is full of mountebank imposters, led by the contemptible Mitch McConnell. They - along with the House leadership - hate Trump with a burning passion, and want to get rid of him so they can go back to their comfortable position of UniParty ease, where they rake in the benefits of their collusion with the DemocRATs, all the while telling tales to the rubes back home that they're fighting for their hopes and desires.

I hope so. I don’t know much about Brown, but maybe his office isn’t just giving lip service to their constituents.

Your ideas sound like excellent ones.

Get behind the WALL. Fund it now then Congressional approval would go through the roof.
