What colleges would you suggest?

There are damned few that are not liberal.

A Christian College.

There are hundreds of fine, fully accredited Christian schools across the country that are better than most state and public schools.

Leave out the Catholic colleges like Georgetown and the liberal schools like SMU and you still have some mighty fine schools that refute the liberal crap that is so prevalent in the US today.

Daughter is planning to major in Economics.

It was the Economics professors who stood up to the Duke 88 group (http://durhamwonderland.blogspot.com/2007/01/dukes-economics-department-takes-its.html).

Maybe the Econ Dept is one of the more conservative depts. on campus? Hoping anyway.

Told the wife, my daughter would need to attend Texas A&M if she wants a conservative campus. There aren’t many around.

Texas A&M is usually listed as one of the “Happiest Campuses”.

Your daughter seems to be on the right track. From what you say, she is very smart and bright and will - despite my warnings about a liberal indoctrination - be able to overcome the normal results of a liberal education.

I wish you all the best!

I don’t doubt that for a minute-——but non Christians also attend college and I doubt that the Christian colleges could handle everyone else.

We have a crisis in the US today. With our leftist colleges and universities that are actively promoting anti-Christian and anti-American rhetoric.

And my solution is simple.

President Trump should immediately stop and suspend all federal funding to all colleges and universities. And especially cease and desist Student Aid funding.

This would harm all colleges, yes. But especially more so the Berkeley’s and Duke’s that are so dangerous.

I agree 100 % with that——and they should no longer be tax exempt.

As a theology professor, you would have thought that he realized that the way to tell the god of any system is to discover what cannot be criticized. In the “intellectually flaccid” university system, the god that is worshipped is diversity whose greatness is exclaimed over and over and no dissension is allowed. Even less than glowingly enthusiastic support of diversity is deemed dissension.

“resigned “
Was forced out. This is the New USA - a country in which you lose your job for your opinions.

An institution like that will almost certainly impart at least some of its values and beliefs into your daughter.

It depends on the kid. I went to a place that was very elite, and as Red as 0bama's diapers.

I thought I was a liberal when I got there. There were actual conservatives there, but I didn't know them. But in that environment, surrounded by Lefty geeks, I was criticized for quoting Thomas Jefferson. I realized that a liberal is a Communist talking his way into hell more slowly. I found that I was a conservative Democrat, at the least. Within a few years, I was a Reagan Republican.

It was going to a liberal college that taught me the panicky phoniness and logical emptiness of liberalism.

Leave out the Catholic colleges like Georgetown

True. But leave IN the real Catholic colleges like Catholic University in D.C., Thomas Aquinas College in Calif., Thomas More College in N.H., the University of Dallas, Christendom College in Va., Ave Maria University in Fla., Belmont Abbey in N.C., and Benedictine College in Kansas--where you will get a real, well-rounded, demanding, "classical" education that teaches you how to think, where the student body and faculty are about 95 percent devout.

The University of St. Thomas in Minnesota and Mount Saint Mary University in Maryland have a more mixed academic environment, but both have a huge community of serious Catholic kids.

By the way, you can get a tremendous Catholic (classical) education even at places like Fordham and Notre Dame, if you pick your professors, dorms, and departments right. The same can also be said for Princeton and Yale, which turn out many strong Catholics, conservatives of other stripes, and conservative Catholics.

The Newman Guide (https://cardinalnewmansociety.org/college/) can give you the inside scoop on which colleges will bring out the best in any student, Catholic or not.

He’s saying all those touchy-feely classes are mostly a bunch a B.S., and he’s right. Some folks can’t handle the truth.

Education factories need to keep students - even those who can't read... so they offer 'stupid' degrees in subjects that won't the students a job at McDonalds. Offering 'basket weaving' degrees was too obvious - so they've been replaced with 'touchy-feely' stuff. They've got to drain the savings of middle class parents after all.

"Griffiths characterized these punishments as “reprisals” for his willingness to voice criticism, designed not to engage the points he made “but rather to discipline me for having expressed them.”

This smacks of social engineering...diversity training.
