My daughter is attended Duke in Fall. Have told her to keep her head down and not talk politics. If anyone asks, to say she is an Independent and not interested in politics.

It's a sign of the times.

I disagree.

Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it gives light to all that are in the house.

He’s saying all those touchy-feely classes are mostly a bunch a B.S., and he’s right. Some folks can’t handle the truth.

"If anyone asks, to say she is an Independent and not interested in politics."

I'll bet that doesn't work. The attitude is "if you're not with us, you're against us". I would be willing to bet that there's no safety in neutrality.

I agree. Professors target conservatives for verbal harassment and bad grades.

Fellow students target them for bullying and complaints.

No minds or hearts are changed with the fascist left. Best to not engage.

You’re sending your daughter to Duke? Why? By doing that - you show your SUPPORT for liberal demented education.

And don’t be surprised when your daughter drinks enough of the Kool-Aid they serve and becomes like them.

Not trying to be insulting here, but really! Please rethink. I might rethink this if a full ride was on the table. Maybe.

If I was in college today I’d wear a BLM shirt and be an outspoken Trump supporter. Nobody would be able to figure me out.

Old Chinese proverb: The nail that stands up gets hammered.

Get out of college, before you make your stand.
And remember not to send it any money when you are an alumni.
Alumni groups can wield a lot of power.

In Indonesia, they put you in jail for thought crimes. In the U.S., the communists are now showing their colors. What the muslims and the communists share is worship of power. The battle is upon us.

“You’re sending your daughter to Duke? Why? “

What colleges would you suggest?

There are damned few that are not liberal.

My daughter is attended Duke in Fall. Have told her to keep her head down and not talk politics.

An institution like that will almost certainly impart at least some of its values and beliefs into your daughter. This could cause far more damage to her in the long life than the prestige and 5% higher starting salary a Duke diploma could bring. There is still plenty of time to find a better university. Her values will be worth far more than her knowledge.

Full ride is provided by bank of Mom & Dad.

She wants to go to law school afterwards. We need conservatives entering the legal field to become judges.

Duke’s undergrad degree will give her a good shot at the top law schools. Like it or not, the T14 law schools offer the pedigree for appointment to the federal bench.

Here is a quote from another article: “In fact, every single current member of the Supreme Court attended law school at Harvard or Yale — though Ruth Bader Ginsburg ultimately got her degree from Columbia Law School after transferring from Harvard Law.”

Yes, tenure:

Given Professor Griffith’s position as an endowed chair, which includes tenure, there was little to no possibility that the university could have vacated his position or fired him. Griffith’s resignation is clearly intended to send a message to the school’s administration—and it’s one that comes through loud and clear.
