Trump Should Stand Up to Bullies & Reinstate Army Secretary's Nomination
Townhall.com ^ | May 8, 2017 | Todd Starnes

Last week President Trump made the following promise to the nation:

“We will not allow people of faith to be targeted, bullied or silenced anymore,” the president said. “We will never ever stand for religious discrimination.”

He made that statement last Thursday. The following day, the president’s nominee for Army Secretary withdrew his nomination.

I’m not going to pull any punches, folks. Dr. Green was bullied and forced out by a mob of militant gays, Muslims and Democrats.

Dr. Green blamed his decision on what he called false and misleading attacks.

“Tragically, my life of public service and my Christian beliefs have been mischaracterized and attacked by a few on the other side of the aisle for political gain,” he wrote in a statement. “While these false attacks have no bearing on the needs of the Army or my qualifications to serve, I believe it is critical to give the President the ability to move forward with his vision to restore our military to its rightful place in the world.”

However, my sources say Dr. Green was pressured to withdraw the nomination. So, who could’ve given such an order?

A senior White House official tells me the administration did not push Dr. Green to withdraw.

“The Army secretary needs strong bipartisan support and when Dr. Green recognized he would no longer have this, he made the decision based on what he thought was best for the Army,” the White House official told me.

Dr. Green is a good and decent man. He is a West Point graduate – a decorated Iraq war veteran – and a devout Christian.

But despite his impeccable military credentials – Dr. Green was deemed unsuitable because he believes among other things that people should use bathrooms that correspond with their God-given plumbing. He also believes in traditional marriage and that man was created in God’s image.

Do those beliefs disqualify someone from serving in a Republican administration?

The senior White House official disputed that notion.

“This isn’t about not standing up for someone or someone’s religious beliefs, this is about doing what’s best for the future of the Army and the soldiers who fight for our country,” the official told me.

If that’s the case – then Dr. Green is the perfect man for the job. But instead of standing up for this good man – he’s been sacrificed on the altar of political correctness.

Apparently, it’s not good enough to pledge allegiance to the American flag – these days you also have to pledge allegiance to the Rainbow flag.

It seems to me the only honorable course of action is for President Trump to reinstate Dr. Green’s nomination.

The president boldly declared that Americans should not be forced to choose between the dictates of the federal government and the tenets of their faith. He vowed that people of faith would never again be targeted.

Do the right thing, Mr. President – and stand up to the bullies.

We need him in Tennessee to replace the leftist RINO trash infesting the Governor’s office.

DJ, how would bowing out of a Cabinet fight make it possible at all that he could become governor? The TN leftist Republicans have been around a long time, certainly since Howard Baker.

Do the right thing, Mr. President - and stand up to the bullies.

“Push” came and went on Clinton’s watch. Now in the aftermath if not continuing debacle of Obama we’re into “Shove” phase. A clear Shove needs to happen or the bullies will never stop stealing our lunch money. Alternative is hook & jab awaiting around the corner.

He was considered a favorite before the Cabinet pick.

Folks acting like Trump encouraged him to drop out - I would imagine Trump told him he had his backing, but wouldn’t push him to expose himself and his family to a anti-Christian witch hunt.

The most important thing President Trump can do for his appointees is stand up and help them through the Senate process. IF this means throttling ol Chicken Neck McConnell then DO IT. Do not let these appointees be treated like shiite and spat on.

I wonder if this is the way President Trump treated his new employees prior to being elected. Hire them in, do not provide a mentor and throw them to the wolves. Can lose some good talent that way.

Obviously, by his success, that was not the case, why he is allowing this to happen now is a mystery.

Political Correctness is the death nail to MAGA.

It takes mountains of courage to stand against it, PC is a never ending barrage of deadly missiles all of which are fired with pin point accuracy and the ammo is never expended it can be used over and over again.

Yes, the Gov. cannot even get education right. I am no fan of our Senators either. Has Alexander ever had a real job?

He had planned to run for Haslan’s Governors seat. I will vote for him if he still does.

He is a WP grad and an MD. That is rare. I say we need a real combat arms type like infantry, armor or artillery. The current guy is queer. Obama sure trashed our country.

“This isn’t about not standing up for someone or someone’s religious beliefs, this is about doing what’s best for the future of the Army and the soldiers who fight for our country,” the official told me.

"The official" seems to be saying that that doing what is right for the Army and for the soldiers requires adherence to homosexual, transgender, and pro-Moslem ideology.
