The lie we were told as kids was this: The end of American liberty would come at the hands of the political right.
Conservatives would take away our right to speak our minds, and use the power of government to silence dissent. The right would intimidate our teachers and professors, and coerce the young.
And then, with the universities in thrall, with control of the apparatus of the state (and the education bureaucracy), the right would have dominion over a once-free people.
Some of us were taught this in school. Others, who couldn't be bothered to read books, were fed a cartoon version of the diabolical conservative in endless movies and TV shows. The most entertaining of these were science fiction, sometimes with vague references to men in brown shirts and black boots goose-stepping in some future time.
Women would become handmaids, subjugated and turned into breeders. And men would be broken as well. The more lurid fantasies offered armies of Luddites in hooded robes, hunting down subversives for the greater good.
But the lie is obvious now, isn't it?

These are statists and redistributionists of weapons, future promoters of a federal government culture which will be militarily imposed on states not complying with “gay bathroom “ ordinances, parades and what not.
People can scream Blue Lives Matter until they are blue, it is a dog and pony show, a show of these kids training cops to be their agents and instrument of pogrom. They are their future overseers like Obama or Comey type lawyers and political police chiefs. It is an internship in hate for them in this militarization of America.

Says all that needs saying. The left has been preparing for these days for years and the colleges have been the breeding ground for this anarchy. IMO, ALL “institutes of higher learning” (obviously a misnomer) should receive ZERO funding from the govt, tax payers should not have to pay for educating the lefties.

Very well said. I have some Facebook friends who are part of the "Christian Left", whatever that means. I checked their website and while they claim to be Christian, their beliefs are the polar opposite of most Biblical teachings. They're pro-choice, pro-homosexual marriage, pro-LGBT anything, anti-Israel, etc. They see Jesus simply as a SJW.

Born in 57 here. In public school we were taught that if we were caught with gum, candy, or other treat, that if we didn’t bring enough for everybody to have some, then we couldn’t have it either. Pure communism.
There can be an element of truth to such “projected” observations. When two people are caught up in a common folly, for instance.

He doesn’t. I saw him in October ‘16, and walked out when the Trump bashing began. His giant floating pink pig had “Trump” written on its side. I did get a chuckle when the pig crashed at the following performance.
Truth lies somewhere in between. It’s good to share if possible. But it isn’t always possible or practical, and people should understand in such circumstances rather than envy or covet.
