House Freedom Caucus Chairman Mark Meadows (R-NC) told Breitbart News in an exclusive interview that he expects an Obamacare repeal bill to pass by the end of May.
Rumors started spreading last week that House Republicans were close to a deal on repealing Obamacare, and now Congressman Mark Meadows says a repeal bill will pass by the end of May. The agreement, brokered by the House Freedom Caucus chairman and Tuesday Group co-chairman Tom MacArthur (R-NJ), would allow states to eliminate Obamacares community rating system a rule that prohibits health insurers from pricing health care plans based on age, gender, or health status. States that repeal Obamacares community rating rules would have to join a federal high-risk pool or establish a local high-risk pool to obtain the waiver.

It will be nice to get rid of this UNCONSTITUTIONAL and ILLEGAL regulatory overreach by the Federal Government.
Repeal the whole thing.
Then try to do legally.
That means pass an amendment.
ONLY with an amendment giving the federal government authority over healthcare will it then be legal.
No amendment - then its ILLEGAL and TYRANNICAL!
That amendment forced vets into the VA system. I hope they change it.
I look forward to Trump leading the effort to get a constitution amendment passed giving the federal government the LEGAL authority to have control over healthcare.
Just like what happened with alcohol, and thus started prohibition.
1. There was a discussion on the practical pragmatic issue around federal control of alcohol.
2. There was an agreement that the Federal government should have legal authority and control over alcohol.
3. There was an amendment passed giving the Federal government legal authority and control over alcohol.
So, in the 3 steps above, replace alcohol with healthcare.
If there is no amendment, and yet the federal seizes authority over healthcare, then it is ILLEGAL and therefore TYRANNY.
(And yes, that is what we have right now!)
If not May, there is always June. If not June, them July. The Republicans have been promising to repeal obamacare since at least 2010. The secret is that the Republicans want it[obamacare] to remain in force as bed as the Democrats do. A lot of Republicans were elected on the “Elect me and I will repeal obamacare” lie.
This looks really really good. the highrisk pools will make the pre-existing people happy and it looks like the states will run it or even if the fed sets up an fdic type program paid for my hospitals and insurance companies.
Sure you will, Mark, mhmm, yeah, I bet.
I don't. I want the Feds out of the healthcare business, but I'll never get what I want, and you'll never get what you want.
You seem to be concerned. Welcome to Free Republic.
That horse done left the barn and went out in the south 40 and died, and there are the flies buzzing around its skeleton.
No....The promise was repeal and replace.
“I don’t. I want the Feds out of the healthcare business, but I’ll never get what I want, and you’ll never get what you want.”
I really suspect that if they tried to do it legally, by a constitutional amendment, that horse wouldn’t even get out the barn door.
This is why they do it illegally.
As they do with all the illegal regulations and laws; they can’t do legally by passing a constitutional amendment. So the underhanded politics and sleazy dealings in the back rooms go on and on and on.
You’ve been at FR for a week. I’d say you’re an antagonist and you don’t know what you’re talking about. Good luck!
Repeal: 1.revoke or annul (a law or congressional act):
First they would have to revoke or annul, then they can replace.
As it is they are rearranging and repairing.
It’s still Obamacare even if they also rename it.
Not everybody lives out in the country off of rabbits that they shoot.
America has gone so far down the nanny healthcare path that it wouldn’t even know what to do with any other model suddenly sprung upon it.
Practicality virtually dictates that the situation be evolved into a saner state of affairs. It is more like a lengthy hospital stay than an aspirin.
All drugs are also legal, by the same reasoning.
... The big problem here is that Obamacare embraced and took over vast swaths of the status quo. If we blast away Obamacare as a whole, we also blast away what was the status quo before Obamacare.
America isn’t ready for that kind of move, IMHO.
