My optometrist told me she sees more kids crying because they CAN’T have glasses (don’t need them) than the reverse.
Reminds me of one of my daughters. She had a new friend, who wore glasses. Pretty soon, she started complaining she was having trouble seeing the blackboard. Had her eyes checked. I think she deliberately faked the far vision part. Optometrist said, she almost doesn’t need these, but just has a little trouble with distance. So, we bought the glasses. They got broken or lost or something, got her the free replacement pair. Lost those, too. That was the end of that. Never had any trouble seeing again, til about forty years old. Kids get ideas in their head. Grade school and up, they want whatever their peers want (even if they really don’t). That’s why it’s so important that parents act as filters for their kids. You are what you eat, read, watch and hear. Kids today are exposed to every kind of trash there is. It’s really dangerous out there. Home school. Even then, some of the world’s garbage will touch them, but not as bad as if they’re spend 12 plus hours a day with it.

Depending how libtard her family is, I’m afraid you may be correct.
I look at pics of my wife as a young girl, total tomboy. Cute, but defiantly tomboy who excelled in sports and loved her matchbox cars. In her teens she blossomed and became drop dead gorgeous with a knock out smile. Her family is large, devout and for the most part, conservative and nature was allowed to take it’s course.
I was a tomboy-I’ve always preferred male friends, I wear jeans work boots and T’s to work-construction work.
I also am a real female-have waist-length hair, like to wear a dress and heels and go out to dinner with my man. I have been married twice, have kids and recently got my flame from college as my man. People have a problem with girls/women like me now? WTF is that-they need to mind their own damned business...

I think the big qualifier in this mother’s statement was gender ‘role’ whatever be used than only ‘gender’ whatever.
What I read that she’s saying that people are trying to push her daughter into a gender that THEY define by the role she is comfortable - a Tomboy and in her words I think confirming that. Bottom line, she is a GIRL but she ‘roles’ much like a boy. It is my impression the ones forcing the “gender designation issue” are the a$$holes in this, not the girl or mother.
I may be wrong, but that’s my take - and I am surprised that NYT even printed it. It doesn’t fit their narrative IMO.
My daughter was a big time tomboy until 5th grade, if I was out working she was with me, if I was out shooting she was shooting, if I was going fishing she wanted to go. If she went to my parents and spent the summer she took about every step my grandpa took. Around 5th grade the girlie-girlie thing kicked in and the tomboy thing trailed off.
She still goes tomboy from time to time, she will grab a pistol and the dog and take off in the woods around our house walking and exploring and at times will find me outside repairing something or building something and is right in the middle of it.
I wish libs. would let kids be kids and stop their stereotyping about which they rail all the time.

Exactly, for my entire life, the left has been saying that men and women should be free to act any way they choose. Now they are saying that if someone chooses to act outside of traditional sex roles, people have to change gender.
