My personal opinion is;
The whole world is congealing into two camps ..... pro Trump / anti Trump.
The Philippines elected Rodrigo Duterte a year ago, a man with a death squad that killed drug dealers in his (then mayoral) city of Davao City.
He extended his anti drug, anti corruption efforts throughout the Philippines as President and the Filipino people absolutely LOVE him !
I have, in the past made comparisons of Trump with Duterte (not sure WHAT their relationship is at this point), and it is my opinion the abu sayef is advancing against, not Duterte or even Trump, but the escalating warfare NOW blatant of Good rising up against (finally), evil.

Duterte has addressed terrorism before, did one even know Duterte actually made a remark that he might have cousins in the terrorist group so this is not necessarily so detached from Duterte.

I think the poster meant the Philippine Govt. is fighting Communist Guerillas as well.
They always have been.
I know there are some folks here that think Duterte is a bad man .... I never know who is who.
Duterte is really a purist mentality ... he loves his country, his people and will do ANYthing to preserve, protect and defend the Philippines.
He has said many, many times about drugs;
They destroy the minds of young people and we (Philippines) NEED them to run the country in the next generation.
We need them to be the mamas and papas, the teachers, the politicians, etc.
I LIKE Rodrigo Duterte.
If our election had gone the wrong way ... I would be in a tropical paradise right now.

Yup, I’ve seen the efforts to slam Duterte and suspect that what he really is, is a tough no nonsense leader trying to save his country from crime/drugs/terrorist. He’s clearly willing to make it a BLOODY war against the enemies of the Phillipines.

Pretty much and I see no light out of that tunnel as long as there is Islam...which is the real enemy of men. These savages are simply doing what Islam is telling them to do while jacking themselves up with every kind of drug out there to pull it off....
