Except there are not 50 GOP Senators who would vote to confirm a real conservative Associate Justice.

I don’t know that there are 20.

I fear Neil Gorsuch is going to be another Kennedy on the court. Don’t think he will turn into Souter; but, I don’t think he is all that conservative either. We will see. Perhaps I will be pleasantly surprised.

The Demoncrats (Progressives) are very patient. The Progressives (both parties) are executing a hundred year plan. They started the nuclear option and will endure a Conservative Supreme Court. When they are back in power I predict they will use the nuclear option to pass laws and bills. Ultimately they will try to use this to make our Republic a Democracy. The East coast and West coast will then determine who wins elections.

Well, the former rules never kept the Democrats from putting doctrinaire liberals on the court.

Remember the controversy over the nomination of the ACLU rep on the Court, Ruth Bader Ginsburg??

Wait, there was no controversy. She sailed through. She got well over 90 votes for confirmation, as I recall.

Even an ACLU radical sailed through confirmation. It’s only when someone conservative is nominated, that there’s any ginned up “controversy” or “concerns” by Democrats and the media about a nominee.

It always took a simple majority vote to appoint a justice. It took 60 votes to over ride a filibuster.

They also need to fill in a lot of lower court positions, as well.

The GOP is now free to put real Scalia-Thomas types throughout the judiciary

Not with those 3 lady rinos, Collins, McCain, and the one from Alaska.

4. Dramatically strengthens GOP election chances in 2018 - with 10 states which Trump won handily holding elections for incumbent Democrat senators in 2018, the Republicans’ chances for pickups of at least two or three seats looked good already - but with the ‘rats waging such vicious warfare against Trump’s first appointee Gorsuch and his overcoming their obstructionism to keep his promise of sending a good strict-constructionist to the bench, voters’ support for Trump and his agenda in those states should only be enhanced and help chances for electing maybe a majority of those seats to Republicans.....
