Don’t most suburbanites bowl?
It’d be a terrible thing if someone happened to drop a bowling ball that rolls out into the street about the time Zippy was flying thru.

Snitches, busybodies and hallway monitor types are not respected.

Mind your own business and I'll mind mine.

“Snitches, busybodies and hallway monitor types are not respected.
Mind your own business and I’ll mind mine. “

If you are endangering my family by speeding in front of my house, it IS my business!

HANK WILLIAMS - MIND YOUR OWN BUSINESS

If the wife and I are fussin', brother that's our right
'Cause me and that sweet woman's got a license to fight
Why don't you mind your own business
(Mind your own business)
'Cause if you mind your business, then you won't be mindin' mine

Oh, the woman on our party line's the nosiest thing
She picks up her receiver when she knows it's my ring
Why don't you mind your own business
(Mind your own business)
Well, if you mind your business, then you won't be mindin' mine

I got a little gal that wears her hair up high
The boys all whistle when she walks by
Why don't you mind your own business
(Mind your own business)
Well, if you mind your own business, you sure won't be minding mine

If I want to honky tonk around 'til two or three
Now, brother that's my headache, don't you worry 'bout me
Just mind your own business
(Mind your own business)
If you mind your business, then you won't be mindin' mine

Sometimes it pays to read my response- who is to say that someone with a grudge couldn’t frame someone they don’t like? like someone stated- the ‘tamer’ could very well get bogus speeds and claim someone they don’t like was the speeder- As someone else said- you have all kinds of busy bodies and snitches now with power to help police fine others- nope- no thank you!

“Sometimes it pays to read my response-”

I did. I will repost it below with my response. If you had read the article you would have known that the citizens could check out radar speed detectors and use that metering to make their report.

“Sure, but i certainly wouldn’t pretend to be a human radar detector who knows what speed they are going if they are traveling close to the speed limit- I also would not trust people who can claim anything they like- what if they have a grudge against someone and falsely accuses them of speeding without any radar proof of speeding? this does not bode well when you have unqualified citizens turning people in based on guestimates-”

Sometimes, it really pays to read the article ...........

Brownshirts.

This all sounds like a reasonable idea now, but this will get out of control and then we'll have a bunch of power hungry indoctrated democrat Brownshirts.....

The Answer to the problem, is that they need to hire more police officers.

I will repeat- The point is that citizens can and WILL abuse their power- as stated in my last post- there is nothing to stop citizens with grudges from falsely accusing people of breaking the speed law and showing false radar readings that had nothing to do with the person they targeted for revenge- As someone else mentioned- who’s to say they can’t get readings in a 50 mph zone, then claim someone was going that speed in a 20 mph zone? You have NO way of knowing if they do this or not- showing a 50 mph ‘reading’ off a radar is not proof- that reading could have been taken anywhere- and of a completely different vehicle-

Exactly- dishonest brownshirts- What’s to keep a bunch of liberals in a liberals neighborhood- from falsely accusing the republicans in those neighborhoods with false radar readings? Nothing-

arming busybody citizens with radar units is idiotic-

you do not have policemen present corroborating that the citizens are actually set up and recoding in their neighborhood- there is no way to prove those readings were taken on their streets- Those citizen busybodies can take those readings anywhere-and claim they were taken in their neighborhood- how you gonna prove otherwise? Their ‘radar evidence’ is not proof- it is simply one citizens word against another- and we have to ‘trust that the neighborhood watcher’ is ‘telling the truth about where they collected the ‘evidence’? Does their ‘training’ make them honest enough to trust? I don’t think so- Their ‘evidence’ should be inadmissible because there is no way to verify where they collected that evidence-

I have read the article and stand by my observations- there is Nothing preventing citizens from taking revenge on someone they don’t like- You are the one not understanding that fact- You avoided answering the question about how to trust that the people are telling the truth? The radar evidence is NOT proof- As mentioned to you several times now- a person with a grudge against someone Can take a reading of cars somewhere else- and CLAIM that the reading was in the slower residential area- There is no way to prove that the people with the radar gun took the reading in the residential area- Not sure what you aren’t understanding about that? That evidence would be inadmissible in court for the reasons pointed out several times now—

There is nothing in the article to refute anything I’ve said- What is to prevent citizens with grudges from falsely accusing someone of speeding? Nothing- Can you prove their radar readings were taken in the actual residential areas? Of course not- Their radar readings are meaningless- they would not stand up in court as evidence for the reasons pointed out several times- so it is meaningless- it is not proof of speeding- and can and will be used as weapons by busybody citizens with grudges to harass people they don’t like- not sure what you aren’t seeing about that?

Contrary to your post they use certified radar guns instead of guesstimating ...

Contrary to your implication there is no ticket, no evidence and no court involved.

[[Contrary to your implication there is no ticket, no evidence and no court involved.]]

there is harassment by the police- and they ARE using the evidence to harass the drivers that are targeted by the busy body citizens- IF there is no evidence, then the police haver no right sending harassing letters to the drivers- - Again- not sure what you don’t understand about that?

[[Contrary to your post they use certified radar guns instead of guesstimating ...]]

I don’t care what they use- the point is that they can and WILL make false claims against people they don’t like, and hte police can and WILL harass the victims- This conversation is beyond the guesstimating argument- it is a fact that the radar readings could be taken anywhere- and there is NO accountability- and could and will be used to falsely accuse people so that the police can and will harass the accused- regardless of how ‘certified’ the guns are- nothing can prevent disgruntled citizens from taking readings somewhere else where the speed limit is higher- and turning arou8nd making the false claims that the readings were taken in their residential areas- the radar ‘evidence’ is not proof of speeding for the reasons pointed out- regardless of whether the guns are certified and calibrated correctly or not- The idea of arming citizens with radar guns is idiotic and leads to busy bodies who WILL abuse their new found power to harass via the police, people they don’t like- that’s not a very difficult point to understand
