Roman Polanski is denied latest bid to resolve 40-year-old statutory rape case

A Los Angeles County judge has denied the latest effort by filmmaker Roman Polanski to resolve his 40-year-old statutory rape case.

In a written decision handed down Monday, L.A. County Superior Court Judge Scott Gordon echoed rulings by previous judges in the case, saying that Polanski’s “motions and corresponding requests are denied.”

But the judge has agreed to a hearing later this month to consider a controversial piece of testimony that the filmmaker is seeking to unseal.

In recent court filings and at a court hearing in March, Polanski asked to be sentenced in absentia, arguing that he has already exceeded the custody time he was originally required to serve. He also noted that courts in Poland and Switzerland have turned down separate extradition requests by U.S. officials, citing procedural irregularities in the case.

Drugged and raped a 14 year girl? A few decades of fame, smoked salmon and limos in various world capitals?

Yup,I think he's suffered enough.

And as for the testimony he wants unsealed...what could that be? That her classmates used to call her "slut"?

Its his own damn fault. He and his attorneys were doing a plea bargain all those years ago. He would have served minimal prison time, as he was plea bargaining to plead guilty to lesser charges.

But he chose to be a fugitive from justice instead. Now he has the audacity to say, that many more years have gone by then he would have been sentenced to serve, and on that basis he should be exonerated??? Really????

His ‘victim’ enjoyed it enough to forgive him 40 years later. No big deal right? As long as it doesn’t cost the taxpayer anything(like a trial) I say let him make his movies in Europe.

Back to our continuing coverage of how there’s no such thing as powerful, wealthy child-molesters who are protected by a network of elites in high places.

Polanski pleaded guilty to engaging in unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor. In his guilty plea, he admitted to giving the 13 year old wine and quaaludes, then having oral, vaginal and anal sex with her.

He claimed she wanted it. She testified that she was terrified and begged him to stop.

He has stuck by his claim that the 13-year-old wanted anal sex with the 43-old man who drugged her.

“Good! Obama would’ve welcomed him back.”

The charges are not federal.

The president has no power to welcome him back.

The Oscar winning pedophile lived only 12 years out of his 83 years in the USA. Why does he want to come back now?

Let him stay in Europe where they approve of such things.

That sounds like what his attorney is arguing. So lets use that logic, I am convicted of robbery and could face 10-15 years, after judgement but before sentencing I flee to Europe for 20 years. Therefore I served my full sentence as not being in America is akin to being in prison.

He also was reported to say that the first time he saw her, he promised himself that he would not use her sexually.

Don’t do the crime, if you can’t face the fine.

Polanski, you blew it, and then you made it worse.
