“Snowflake”? I responded politely, simply, and cogently, pointing out a means by which the husband himself could feed his wife without the food getting cold — and without the need for embarrassingly conspicuous do-goodery. I expected that some other persons too would wonder why they didn’t do that.
Instead I was asked, “WTF’s the matter with you? Haven’t you realized by now that there are certain events in our lives that don’t need to be ‘understood’?”, and it was suggested that I not “...get to analytical on these things”.
Inserting an insult like “snowflake” into your response isn’t going to make me give up using common sense and descend to the level of thoughtless insults.

Apparently someone thought it was enough of the public’s business to write an article about it, and someone else to link to it on a discussion forum. The people in the restaurant, I agree, are free to lead their lives as they please. When I see something on an internet forum, though, I assume I’m likewise free to express my opinion about it.

You must be speaking of a military I sure don't remember. Honor in the military is very important; that is why the students from West Point who knew about cheating, but didn't report it, were ALSO suspended from the Acadamy.
