House Speaker Paul Ryan’s poll rating have slid nationwide after many GOP members rejected his draft Ryancare law.

Ryan has a nationwide “favorable” rating of just 39 percent, down from the post-election peak of 46 percent in December, according to a new poll by Rassmussen Reports. The 39 percent support includes 11 percent who view Ryan “very favorably.”

Among GOP supporters, Ryan’s popularity now stands at 65 percent favorable and 26 percent unfavorable, down from his December 2016 rating of 73 percent favorable and 21 percent unfavorable.

Well, you have to wonder about Ryan’s effectiveness as Speaker and leader of the GOP, after this mis-adventure.

Do any of you still have great confidence in Ryan’s leadership, legislative skills, ability to “get things done”, to put it that way????

How daft are the people they are polling?

Ryan is a duplicitous weasel Democrat in an R jersey bent on stopping Trump from enacting his agenda so they can get back to business as usual, importing cheap labor and selling out America.

My view of Ryan didn’t slide. It was already as low as it could go.

Ryan’s family and John McCain.

I’d wager only a small slice of adults in the U. S. even know who Paul Ryan is. I would hope that we learned after disastrously wrong polling most of last year here and overseas that polls are not to be trusted no matter what they claim.

Apparently that does not matter to the GOP House Members.
Not a peep. Not a sound for removing him as Speaker, including
members of the HFC. They are ALL silent as mouses.

guys, I am gonna follow DJT’s lead. He hasn’t been wrong on too much so far. If he publicly says Ryan is okay, I’ll buy it. Yes, MOGUL is probably saying that because he knows Ryan is firmly ensconced in the Speaker’s chair—but MOGUL has proven himself able to truly get along with anyone, D or R, in his years as being a business man.

I guess there is some cathartic release in bashing Ryan. And I do think he could be STRONGER on the issues and a little more ballsy as a spokesperson.

But he is the what we have to work with, at least for now.

I hope by hook or crook he is moved in the proper direction. And who knows? Maybe he’ll believe in it for anything other than selfish reasons. :)

The GOP had 8 years and could have had a great bill all ready to go by now. What the hell were they doing? This kind of incompetence would get you fired in the real world!

Absolutely his support slid. But not because he didn't get that bill passed. His support slid because he tried to pass a crap sandwich bill in the first place, and lied to us that he couldn't get a genuine repeal passed in the Senate without 60 votes. His support would have soared (and would still soar) if he pulled the Mo Brooks bill out of committee and worked toward its passage instead.

Giving Obama Power, of course! What the heck do you think "GOP" stands for, anyway?

I think the last bill Zero vetoed would have been an appropriate bill. Why Ryan didn’t use that says more about Ryan then the merits of the bill.

Well Ryan did win his primary 70%-30%, Linda Graham won his with 60%, as did McCain.

Unfortunately most Republicans are just plain stupid and/or not paying attention.

It says more about the Congressional Republican leadership. It's easy to put forth these bills when it's going to be vetoed by Obama. It's all Kabuki Theater, not meant to actually "do" things. Neither Ryan nor McConnell expected Trump to win. Hence, when he did, they couldn't introduce any of those bills - they'd actually produce something.

Only one poll of Paul Ryan’s popularity is important, that taken in the Wisconsin First Congressional District. If he is to be primaried, that is where the fire should be concentrated.

Keep in mind, a sometimes swing district. Madison and Milwaukee are close, but neither is a part.
