Sometimes Rush's rants smack too much of "the lady doth protest too much, methinks."
We don't care which political party is growing or declining. We care whether or not we, the people, are getting more free or more enslaved.
They are using his "tweak of the day" tactics.
Rush's advertisers pay good money to attract people to their businesses and Rush goes out and gives free advertising to MSNBCABCCBSCNNPBSNPRETALADNAUSEUM every day.

What about the thought that McConnell is being played by Schumer on the Gorsuch filibuster?
What if Schumer convinces McConnell that he doesn't need the nuclear option because there are enough Democrats to force cloture, and then Schumer reneges and Gorsuch ends up failing cloture and gives the MSM their story for the week?
Would McConnell have the nerve to invoke the nuclear option AFTER a failed cloture vote, or would he be better off invoking the nuclear option and having a majority cloture vote from the start?
I believe the rule is that the Senate requires a 48-hour notice for cloture, so a second cloture vote that invokes the nuclear option would come after two days of the Democrats and MSM haranguing McConnell about it, saying the failed first cloture is proof that Gorsuch is "outside the mainstream."

Sean Hannity has had them on his program talking about what they have discovered in the investigation of the Obama wiretapping, unmasking and changing the rules of dissemination. Very interesting indeed....Obama made all of the information legally available to his people.

McConnell can switch sides and move to reconsider the cloture vote. No notice needed, and he could also file a subsequent cloture motion, which sets in motion that delay before the next cloture vote. The delay in Senate Rule XXII is "one hour after the Senate meets on the following calendar day but one."

If he has the nerve to invoke it at all, that would be as good a time as any. I'm sure Pence will be close by when the vote takes place.
Personally, I think the Democrat threat to filibuster Gorsuch is for show, to see how much they can get away with from McConnell.
In reality, Democrats know that the real fight is the next SCOTUS appointment. I read earlier reports suggesting that they want to keep the filibuster intact until then. Even if the nuclear option can be used even then, since the stakes will be higher when replacing Ginsburg, the MSM and Democrat furor over the nuclear option at that time will send McConnell catatonic if he shows any weakness now over what I believe is a filibuster bluff.
So the Schumer strategy should be to rattle and fray McConnell's nerves now, so that he's in a weakened mental state for the next fight.

I agree with you. All the noise now is for show. The DEMs can’t very well be agreeable about anything. I figure they are drawing straws to figure the order of voting for cloture, some will vote for it - following Leahy’s lead.
