In 2015 Kate Steinle was gunned down by an illegal alien in San Francisco - a sanctuary city.
The man charged with her murder was a seven-time felon who had been deported five times. Five times.
There was an immigration hold on the suspect, but San Francisco authorities set the man free. Just a few months later, Miss Steinle would be dead.
Kate Steinle's blood is not only on the hands of her killer - but it's also on the hands of San Francisco Mayor Ed Lee.
It's beyond belief that liberal mayors are allowing illegal aliens to run wild in the streets of American cities - terrorizing law-abiding citizens.
So Attorney General Jeff Sessions' decision to punish sanctuary cities is welcome news. On Monday he announced plans to withhold billions of dollars in federal money from any city that harbors illegals.
Not only do these policies endanger lives of every American, just last May the Department of Justice inspector general found that these policies also violate federal law,” Sessions said. “The president has rightly said disregard for law must end.”
But I believe the Trump Administration should go a step further. If an illegal commits a felony crime in a sanctuary city - the mayor of that city should also face criminal charges – from harboring fugitives to aiding and abetting.
San Francisco Mayor Ed Lee defiantly declared Monday on Twitter that “#SanctuaryCities are safer, more productive, healthier places to live.”
Tell that to Kate Steinle’s family.
The attorney general rightly said that failing to report aliens who are “convicted of criminal offenses put whole communities at risk, especially immigrant communities in the very sanctuary jurisdictions that seek to protect the perpetrators.”
Countless Americans would be alive today if sanctuary cities were shut down. Kate Steinle would be alive today.
Had Kate been MY daughter, that mayor would be six feet under just like her.
Politicians should SUFFER the consequences of their policies; the consequences they suffer should be equal to the consequences their policies cause others to suffer.

I agree with the President. Mayors of these sanctuary cities are accomplices when a crime is committed & should be arrested & tried accordingly.
I have a contrarian view on this. The fact is there will always be liberals. There is nothing that can be done about that! A la Escape from New York, the people who vote for the people who are criminals and support other criminals should have to suffer the consequences of their actions. I say make the sanctuary cities post signs on their borders stating that they don’t arrest criminals and caveat emptor.
Illegals above the Law and they can help themselves to your stuff ,LOL
If they care so much about these invading criminals, let them emigrate to the home countries of these vermin--catching a ride right along with them when the vermin are deported--and advocate for them in garbage countries A-Z.
America is for Americans. Yet these petty urban warlords give shelter, even legal aid to these criminals, AGAINST their own citizens, using the citizens' own tax monies against them. They must never have heard of France, Germany, Britain, etc. They must never have seen news stories about illegal criminals killing citizens by drunk driving, stabbing them, or cutting off their head. Their ideologies, themselves foreign to American values, are all they care about. Agenda uber alles.
These mayors must be thrown into jail for their traitorous irresponsible behavior, federal monies to these sanctuary cities must be halted, until the cities wake up and remember to whom they owe their loyalty. Hint: it's not to every rag tag illegal criminal sneaking over our borders, undocumented, motives unknown, happy to live forever off OUR money from welfare.
In this case, the mayor is just as guilty of her murder, if not more so, as a get away driver and the rest of the gang would if someone is killed during the robbery they've committed.
The mayor and crew didn't pull the trigger, but they willfully disobeyed the law and failed to uphold their sworn duty resulting in her murder, so their shared guilt is clear and Justice waits patiently.
To be clear, it's far better to let Justice have its way with them here and now in this world than in the next.
Those who seek leadership are judged by an even higher standard than those they seek to lead and the poor souls who maintain "Sanctuary Cities" are in terminal danger.
Whether punished or not, they serve as an example for others to either follow or to avoid.
Leadership comes with a price. Better to stand with integrity and humility and perhaps Wisdom will offer her advice and counsel.

Can anyone tell me if it would be legal to strip a public official of their immunity to being sued when they are in open rebellion against the lawful authority? Just curious, but I’d really be on board with that idea.

Ed Lee is a stone enemy of the Americans, a Maoist Chinese nationalist who sued his way into power.
Put extreme pressure on illegals all over the country and let them run for the border or run for cover to sanctuary cities.
In the sanctuary cities the majority of local residents must want the illegals there or they would boot out their pro-illegal local government officials.
So let them reap the benefits of harboring and dealing with the murderers, drug dealers, rapists and other illegal alien criminals.
Soon cities like Chicago will be populated by nothing but moochers, illegal alien criminals and crooked democrat politicians.
If the sanctuary cities are reluctant to post "Welcome Illegal Alien Criminals" signs on their borders perhaps some helpful organizations could post the signs for them.

I was with my ex-husband & his kids, near the Wharf, being tourists. I had been there a couple of times before, so I was leading the pack.
The locusts called Hare Krisnas were on the sidewalks everywhere, being rather intimidating. *I told my EX & his kids to follow me & do exactly what I tell them to do.
I started walking uphill, and the white robes tried to block us. I kept up my pace & I said, quite strongly & not very quietly—”Get the F out of my way”, They scurried back to the building wall & never tried another move against us.
The kids didn’t understand, but my EX sure did. They were all from Wisconsin, and had never seen such panhandling tactics before.
I didn’t feel safe then-—1978-—and I sure wouldn’t feel safe now.
Ed Lee can tout whatever he wants-—he has protection everywhere HE goes.
