The Socialist senator from Vermont, Bernie Sanders, set off a Twitterstorm yesterday with a tweet that was hard to believe.
Needless to say, this towering hypocrisy did not go unnoticed in the Twitterverse:
A man who owns three houses -- including the recent purchase of a vacation home for $600K -- and pays a smaller percentage of his income in taxes than most middle class Americans, should not be taking a dump on America in a glass house.
There are two possibilities for Sanders' obvious cluelessness; 1) he knew full well the kind of reaction he would get and was looking for attention; or 2) he really is oblivious to how incredibly hypocritical his words are.
I would think the latter explanation is closer to the truth. Liberals like Sanders -- like most rich liberals in Hollywood and elsewhere -- believe they deserve their wealth by dint of some special talent or brilliance they possess. They feel themselves above the mundane, petty concerns that most Americans have about great wealth. That their hearts are so noble, their intent so pure, and their lives so devoted to the less fortunate -- all this makes these liberals better than the rest of us.
If not the rest of us, certainly better than the run-of-the-mill rich people who don't share their compassion, their love for their brothers and sisters, their tolerance, and their out-and-out goodness.
It's amazing this guy got as close to the nomination of a major party as he did.

You mean people should worship either wealth or caring for the poor, rather than G-d? Bernie, go play with your Silver Sow and Buckeye News Hawk awards, and leave moral pronunciations to those who know their arses from their elbows.

Sounds like a lady I know - call her Joan. We attend a crafts retreat every year and there is a drawing for goodies on the last day. One year another attendee - Laura - won the “grand prize” (not TOO “grand” — a huge collection of special thread).
Well, Joan was completely pissed off and went into a huff. “Laura doesn’t need that. She can afford to buy her own.” I said, “Joan, you have a house on the lake, a house in Florida, a boat, and four cars. You can afford to buy your own, too.” She looked at me as if I were talking in dolphin-speak or something. “Huh?”
Surprise: Joan and her husband were Bernie supporters. It must be a flaw in the DNA or something.
He said, “You must be joking son! Where did you get those shoes?”
The Soviet leaders all had nice homes and special stores they shopped in.

It’s communism, not socialism, and under communism everyone is piss poor except the ruling party elite, which lives in luxury. Sanders wants to bring about communism, and of course he would remain in the ruling party elite, and enjoy the riches paid for by us.
I don’t know anyone who “worships wealth.” I know people who come close to worshiping Capitalism, myself included, as a God-given system that did more than anything else in human history to pull hundreds of millions of people out of poverty. Bernie’s Socialism has been demonstrated over and over again to shove people back down into the misery of poverty.
Better than Americans who worship big government and mediocrity.
Democrats are hypocrites and Evil. So are a lot of Republicans.

Reminds me of a professor who b!tched that his salary wouldn’t buy him the bigger SUV he wanted.
He had no concept that he was complaining to his CUSTOMERS; he truly spoke as if he were anointed Illuminati and deserved a certain lifestyle regardless of whether he produced anything useful or not.
And no doubt although he wanted the SUV of his dreams, he thinks we should all ride bikes or drive Smart cars, bank on it.

There is a third possibility: Sanders is accustomed to not being called on his hypocrisy because the MSM let the elites slide.

He is transparent but still appeals to the scu&bags in the population who love being schoolyard lunch money robbers.
