The question was what would the U.S. look like without the EPA. You are shifting the discussion. Which is fine but you should first answer the question.
No, that is a true statement to be read literally. You literally could not see the mountains around Los Angeles.
Anyone remember smog days at school where they restricted activity during recess, just had us sit on the grass. Remember how your lungs would tingle if you skate boarded too much on a smog day?
I get it...the funny part is when you said you didn’t “Know” that there were mountains there until you became older. Of course you knew...they were just polluted by the air which has now been replaced by the illegal pollution. /s

PS...I remember in the early 50’s when our family lived in Redlands...the smell of orange groves was as sweet as perfumed air. My grandfather built Cheviot Hills in LA at the time and you could see the mountains crystal clear.
Sorry, but YOU are the one shifting the discussion. The question is NOT “what if the EPA NEVER EXISTED and massive air and water pollution still existed”. It’s “what if the EPA was forced to cease its CURRENT jihad on America’s and its citizens’ prosperity”.
It’s possible that you or a family member work for the EPA and/or mistakenly believe that CO2 is destroying the “health” of the Earth and is a “poison” that must be prevented at all cost. The EPA’s primary focus now is not cleaning up the air and water from emitted pollutants — that MISSION has already been largely accomplished. If the EPA would stick to making sure there is no backsliding in air and water quality, few of us would have a problem with that. But that is not their current focus—I’m sorry you lack the eyes or perception to recognize that.

You are not correct that I made any statement regarding CO2. That is all such a crock. You and I are likely in total agreement the CO2 stuff is just a scam.
To be clear, the EPA did serve a useful purpose but now it is overreach and needs to be scaled back. That does not mean a return to polluted skies.
