Donald Trump sends B-52 NUCLEAR BOMBERS to South Korea

AMERICAN military chiefs are sending nuclear bombers to the Korean peninsula as tensions in the region reach breaking point.

North Korea and the US have been teetering on the brink of war for months after Kim Jong-un carried out a series of controversial missile launches.

Earlier this week, trigger-happy Kim pushed his luck once more when he fired off four ballistic missiles into the seas near Japan.

Now President Donald Trump is reportedly flying in B-1 and B-52 bombers – built to carry nuclear bombs – to show he’s had enough.

South Korea and the US have also started their annual Foal Eagle military exercise sending a strong warning to North Korea over its actions.

A military official said 300,000 South Korean troops and 15,000 US personnel are taking part in the operation.

Secretary of Defence James Mattis said the US "remains steadfast in its commitment" to the defence of the South, said Pentagon spokesman Navy Capt. Jeff Davis.

"He further emphasised that any attack on the United States or its allies will be defeated and any use of nuclear weapons will be met with a response that is effective and overwhelming," said Capt. David.

Washington is also expected to deploy a series of strategic assets from the US as well as from military bases in Guam and Japan, reports the Korea Times.

Unless those B-52s are equipped with nuke cruise missiles, I would not send them to S. Korea.

Aren’t we actually still at war with them? Or did I miss something?

“Aren’t we actually still at war with them? “

Technically, I think you are correct.

Kim is about to find out the difference between a Big Dog/Mad Dog pitbull combo and a mom-jeans-wearing yappy chihuahua who ran & hid every time someone looked at him & said “scram”.

NK is crazy but crazy smart when dealing with US in the past at least. Correct me if I am wrong, but haven’t they done something like a missile test in every administration early on and usually Bill Clinton or Jimmy Carter or Dennis Rodman is dispatched to talk to them. They outcome has been more money to NK and they behave for a little while. Do I remember correctly?

We have an “armistice” which is a temporary cessation in hostilities, a lull, for the purpose of gathering the dead and burying them or for entering negotiations.

There’s a B52 base a few miles down the road, the local news paper usually has stories about their deployment. Nothing yet about Korea, however there is a flock of them going to the Middle East for the first time in 12 years.

There’s not that many of them left, as compared to the Cold War days. I suspect there’d be lotsa work keeping up with multiple deployments.

Send them to North Korea, tell the chinese that if they get in the way, we will keep going.

Wipe North Korea clear of all of their nuke weapons. Rinse and repeat in Iran.

Do we have any bombers that *aren’t* nuke-capable? Alternately, are there any B-52s that can’t carry nukes? The headline is kind of overwrought.

Carter’s trip to NK in 1995 “defused” the standoff, but not in our favor. It provided the North with time & cover to develop its nukes.

Yep. And the Nork's laugh about it. The missile tests and nuke tests are a big shakedown. It's all about money.

I’m confused. Whenever we have war exercises don’t we dispatch weapons systems that may be used? They are making it sound like we are having war games and Trump interrupted the meeting and said, “we are sending B52’s over there.”

Or am I missing something?

The Sun is a sensationalist rag trying to feed into the liberal narrative that President Trump is some kind of unstable maniac. Not all Buffs are equipped to carry nukes. Just because some B-52’s are equipped to carry nukes, doesn’t mean that one’s sent to any given place are. I see no credible source quoted in the article that these are so equipped, the Sun has no way of knowing, and the Government probably wouldn’t pre-anounce it anyway. I’ll wait for a more reliable report— like from the National Enquirer.
