(Great, passionate lecture on the scourge of Postmodernism that has taken over the colleges and is making its way into the rest of society, resulting in the rotting away of our culture before our very eyes. Explains what it is, its relationship to marxism and how it's brought about identity politics... and what to do about it. Well worth the time.
For those who don't know, Dr. Peterson is a professor of psychology at McGill university in Canada and is a courageous and outspoken enemy of political correctness. Once you see this video you'll want to see more of his lectures and interviews)

He is fantastic. thanks.
I’ve become a big fan of Dr. Jordan Peterson since he first made a video stating that he would not use the ridiculous gender pronouns mandated by his university. He is an extremely intelligent and passionate speaker, I would recommend all of his videos.
What happens after postmodernism?
Post-postmodernism?
Post-post-postmodernism?
From pillars to postmodernism, or something like that.
Anyhow while society doesn’t have to be perfect to work, it has got to at least honor certain things pro forma.
And Canada itself, from which he hails, has gotten pretty coarse and crude.
Living as it did under the umbrella of the (until recently, and yet maybe now with a resurgence) more God fearing USA, it didn’t have to fight the battles of being between the devil and the deep blue sea.
I think we are in or are approaching whatever comes after postmodernism, and Peterson is one of the primary voices trying to identify what this next phase is. We have stretched the “identity-affiliations/afflictions” contest to the extent that nihilism seems to be the predominant epistemology of the far left, which has always been the ultimate goal of the postmodernists. So I really don’t know what comes next; I think people like Peterson will either stimulate a renaissance back toward traditional modes of thinking, or we will sink ever deeper into that bottomless pit of hell.
I always thought the naming of these schools of philosophy were as ridiculous as the philosophies themselves.
A better name for “postmodernism” would be delusionalism.
Post Modernism is actually just old fashioned sophistry.
At best it is a tautology
It’s much worse than sophistry.
Sophistry doesn’t deny logic, it uses false logic to fool you. In postmodernism logic itself is obliterated, it sees no problem with being contradictory, and what’s truly astonishing is that it uses logical arguments to make its case. Even language and words becomes meaningless, yet it uses language to convince.
It should be called absurdism or simply “insanity”.
Wow.
Thanks for posting. I’ll have to find out more about this guy.
Thanks for posting. I love Jordan Peterson - although, I could be wrong, but I think he’s at University of Toronto.
He’s have a series of lectures this year and is going to examine the stories of the Bible. If it wasn’t located in the God forsaken hell-hole of Toronto, I’d go.
I wrote my PhD dissertation on the Founder of Post Modernism.
There are, I believe; only three ways of thinking. You can be a philosophic Idealist where truth is revealed (Plato, Lao Tzu & Protestant Christian), a philosophic Realist (Aristotle, Confucius Roman Catholic Christians)where truth is discovered or a Sophist who does not believe in truth but words
I think sophistry does deny logic. It places argument - words - over logic. Logic is held hostage to elocution in sophistry. Elocution and locution are empty, emotionally charged vehicles to nothingness without some form of logic.
That said, I’m not going to argue about it. Basically I think we agree. We just a more or less broad definition of sophistry.

I would also recommend Dr. Norman Doidge, a Canadian psychiatrist. He gave a 92-minute talk available on YouTube on Freedom of Speech/Political Correctness in which he analyzed the type of personality inclined to being SJWs. I’ve already listened to his talk twice and took notes. His talk on freedom of speech and PC was followed by one by Jordan Peterson. See https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OxslBI3hNFQ
