Homeland Security Secretary John Kelly says President Trump possesses credible evidence that former President Barack Obama ordered the wiretapping of Trump Tower in New York City last year.
Trump claimed on Twitter last Saturday that Obama had his “wires tapped” in Trump Tower before Election Day last year, making the accusation without offering any evidence.
“If the president of the United States said that, he’s got his reasons to say it,” Kelly said Monday on CNN’s “The Situation Room." "[Trump’s] got some convincing evidence that that took place.”
Kevin Lewis, a spokesman for Obama, said last Saturday that Trump’s claims about the former president are “simply false.”
“A cardinal rule of the Obama Administration was that no White House official ever interfered with any independent investigation led by the Department of Justice,” he said in a statement.
"As part of that practice, neither President Obama nor any White House official ever ordered surveillance on any U.S. citizen.”
White House spokesman Sarah Huckabee Sanders said Sunday an investigation of Trump’s wiretapping claims should be included in any probe of ties between the president’s 2016 bid and Russia.

My take is someone like Loretta Lynch ordered the wiretapping. Thus, Comey's statement is true.

This is the core of Comey's problem. He has been involved in an illegal use of intelligence to use against a candidate for president. This is the worst scandal in U.S. history. Comey is dancing on hot coals.
Yes, the Kelly quote does NOT assert that Kelly has any knowledge of the facts, alas.
It is of the nature of “I’m sure the POTUS wouldn’t say that without evidence”....
But we have yet to learn more than what was said in the tweets themselves.
I hope the evidence is conclusive and overwhelming, and that we get to know all about it soon! I’m tired of the push-back by anonymous sources and leakers who fill the MSM with their b.s. lies.

Trump has some of the best private security there is. They probably knew the second the taps went in. So feeding disinformation to see where it popped up is probably right.
Kelly is talking like he just assumes Trump has proof of some kind.

Any idiot knows that FISA wiretaps are "ordered" by the FISA judge.
Of course, a FISA wiretap may be requested by such as the POTUS, via a compliant DoJ, with a wink or a nod or a raised eyebrow. At worst, all they have to do is bamboozle the ignoramus on the bench.
I'd settle for a hi-tech drawing and quartering.
But, I don't know if Comey, being white, would qualify for such a delicious ordeal.
So far Comey has appeared to play it straight.
Didn’t I read recently that he had a meeting with Trump.. My guess is that Comey is a double agent with real alliances to Trump.
Comey’s appearance to turn on Trump was part of a strategy by Trump to help Comey get good information from the Dem’s.
Clinton tweeted about it in October and it’s been in the papers for months.

Agreed, at least it seems to me that the ordeal is even more explosive if it happened and Comey thinks it absurd that it happened.

This has been my thinking as well. Strongly Agree - and the fact that Trump has kept Comey on suggests this too as Trump would have the inside info on it.
Thus why we got Obama's response through his spox, everyone else didn't know whether to say "preposterous" or "of course". The strategy had to come from the top.

Yes. We need to hear these things ourselves, you can't trust the slant they print about it. It's like these off-camera press gaggles that Sean Spicer keeps doing. I don't like that at all, because you can only hear what they decide to print, and sometimes it is misleading. I like to watch the briefings myself. I tweeted him to tell him that, but it didn't have any effect LOL.
