Fragile types in liberal enclaves have a hard time coping with Trump's election.
The nation's politically liberal coasts have seen a months-long outbreak of depression. Here in the San Francisco Bay area, among patients, neighbors, friends, and colleagues, there is palpable gloom. They cite as the reason "the news." Ever since the election, people have been unable to pull themselves away from our ongoing political soap opera.
"Election depression" has turned into the more chronic "political depression." In an interview, several psychologists characterized this mood disorder as being commonly marked by nightmares, insomnia, digestive problems, and headaches, with anxiety, jitteriness, chest tightness, and "a hallucinatory sense of slow-motion doom" also possible. Sufferers may describe feeling demoralized and powerless, and even a sense of unreality. People have been missing work and school. They have seen relationships impaired and a decline in daily functioning (these are particular red flags for therapists). One woman even described an inability to put her children to sleep on time due to difficulty tearing herself away from the news.

These people were f***ed in the head a long time ago.
Trump has just caused them to confess in public.
Perhaps it is time for assisted suicide for depressed liberals. It is the only humane thing to do. No one should have to live with such pain.
Politics-Related Depression: Is It Real?
Only on the liberal left.... It’s called Liberal Left Loser Syndrome
“Perhaps it is time for assisted suicide for depressed liberals. It is the only humane thing to do. No one should have to live with such pain.”
Excellent comment
The Democrats are now officially PESTS.
Post Election Stress & Trauma Syndrome (or Sufferers)
I experienced it after Obama was elected. But I didn’t go for counseling.
After having taught so many years in the public schools, I was in need of counseling, but didn't go either. This was all WAY before Obama. I thought it couldn't get worse, then that muslim ursurper won the election. I thought it couldn't get worse, and now we're watching an attempted overthrow of the government by him and those who support him including the Clintons. I have an idea about what is about to happen next.
I was pretty down during the Kenyanesian Usurpation, it looked like the Fundamental Transformation of the greatest country on earth was going to succeed in turning us into a third world dump.
Since 1992
As a result, I was able to relocate for a higher level job making more money and I have a much healthier and more balanced lifestyle.
Not to say that our victories in November were not very, very sweet! I've been over the moon since. But had it gone the other way, I would not be a broken man by any stretch. I have too many positive things to live for.
It’s real when there’s a Republican as president. Not so much when we have a Democrat.
That is really sad.
The MSM is contributing to a lot of people’s pain. He doesn’t want to kill anyone, he wants to improve people’s lives.
I hope your friend feels better.
We would get plenty of volunteers to assist them with getting on to their reward.
Perhaaps something good will come of this. Perhaps great numbers of depressed lefties will commit suicide.
In the 1930s, there was a song called “Gloomy Sunday”, which because of a rumor that it had caused suicides, was nicknamed “The Hungarian Suicide Song”. It became well-known throughout much of the English-speaking world after the release of a version by Billie Holiday in 1941.
I suppose the question today should be for liberals and leftists already despondent over their failures and having to look themselves in the mirror, what could tip the balance so that they decide to quit?
It’s certainly easy enough. Just 200 micrograms of the opioid analog Carfentanil for each one should do the trick, though it may actually take far less. Quite possible in that smugglers have been caught with kilograms of it.
Put it on blotter paper and call it the best LSD ever made.
I have to admit that my outlook dimmed in November of 1992, again in 1996, brightened considerably in November of 2000, dropped through the floor in November of 2008 and got even far worse in November of 2012, I really felt miserable. My outlook brightened around midnight of election night 2016 and I am finding myself breaking into a happy song often during the day since midday of January 20, 2017. This week I find myself trying to keep up with Willie Nelson on this number...https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CxbMZ9HwIDo
