Manchin tells CNN that meetings between senators and ambassadors are routine
As Democrats, some in the media, and even a handful of GOP lawmakers call on Attorney General Jeff Sessions to recuse himself from some Justice Department investigations, a Democratic senator defended him Thursday from allegations that he met improperly with the Russian ambassador before last years election.
Sen. Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.) said it is not unusual for senators to meet with ambassadors.
Ive met with the Russian ambassador with group in my capacity, with a group of other senators; yes, that happens, he told CNN. We meet with all the ambassadors, or try to, anyway, to build the relationships that you can have some dialogue we can basically talk and have some type of interactions back and forth and know where in the world people are coming from. So, thats not unusual.
The Washington Post reported late Wednesday that Sessions met twice with Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak last year once at a Heritage Foundation event at the Republican National Convention in Cleveland and again in his Senate office in September. Sessions denied twice during his Senate confirmation hearing that he met with anyone connected to the Russian government, but a spokeswoman said the questions were in the context of the Trump campaign.

Delay tactics to prevent SESSIONS from bringing criminal lawmakers and political pundits to justice.
Sucking ... it's what you're good at.
Munchkin and McStain need to go to the same place.
Bumping to add a tagline.
Time to take out Obama, Jarrett, Schemer and Pelosi "with prejudice" and all due deliberation - ASAP!
I think numerous Senators asking for resignation or recusal of a newly appointed AG, accused of lying, treason and fixing a US election is rather important. This fire needs to be put out immediately.
Donald Trump: 489,371 votes (68.63%)
Hillary Clinton: 188,794 votes (26.48%)
Gary Johnson: 23,004 votes (3.23%)
Jill Stein: 8,075 votes (1.13%)
Darrell Castle: 3,807 votes (0/53%)
Wyoming beat us, but it was closer than your numbers indicate.
Trump needs to start investigating Obama’s “shadow” government !
Trump needs to go AFTER Obama and his leaking of national secrets!
I wouldn’t mind trading him for McCain. With a draft pick in Arizona sometime soon.
They had to make a move after President Trump’s awesome speech because that’s just the kind of vile swamp creatures they are. The dems looked like the infantile pouting children they are; more so IMHO now that they are doing this move on AG Sessions.
What needs to happen very fast behind the scenes is finding proof of collusion between the seditionists obama, holder, schumer, pelosi, and the rest, then arrest them, put them in cuffs, and make them do the perp walk in front of every camera available.
Then get really serious about finding those in the media who are also seditionists and arrest them as well but don’t make it public to give them any fame. Nope. Nice and quiet and bring them in the back door without any camera’s.
Don’t let up; find every leaker and prosecute to the fullest extent of the law. Time to get very serious with those who are attempting to undermine our country, way of life, and our duly elected President and his Cabinet.
We are AT WAR!!
He is the Zell Miller of our time! LOL
“Is there an FR Pool taking Bets as to the Date that Manchin will switch Parties?”
Why would he switch parties? He can vote mostly with republicans and still get dems to vote for him.
He will only switch when he has a strong Republican challenger.
You’re right
It was 41.7% not 38%
much higher
But Wyoming was 46.3% margin fwiw
I looked it all up just now*
Before I went on what Manchin said on Laura yesterday
My obvious error
Apologies

http://www.nytimes.com/elections/results/west-Virginia
Another site has WV margin 42.1%
I like it
That could be
I wonder how long it will be before Manchin switches to the Republican Party? Before this coming 4th of July?
